
Pekanbaru, 25 November 2025 — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Riau (FISIP UNRI), held a Curriculum Workshop titled “Designing Innovative, Learning-Outcome-Oriented Semester Learning Plans (RPS)” at Royal Asnof Hotel Pekanbaru on Tuesday (25/11) from 08:00 AM until completion. This activity serves as a strategic step for the faculty in strengthening academic governance, particularly through curriculum alignment and improving the quality of learning toward a more adaptive and competitive 2025 Curriculum.
The workshop featured two expert speakers in curriculum development:
Dr. Ibnu Daqiqil, S.Kom., M.T.I., Ph.D., Head of UPA ICT UNRI, who delivered his material in person, and Dimas Yuwono Wicaksono, ST., MT., CTLA, who presented online via Zoom Meeting.




Both speakers explained comprehensive strategies for developing Outcome-Based Education (OBE)-based RPS, emphasizing creativity, relevance, and alignment with national learning outcome standards. The workshop was moderated by Muhammad Faizal Dzulqarnain, M.Phil.

Participants included faculty leaders, department heads, program coordinators for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs, as well as lecturer representatives from each study program/department. Their presence highlighted a shared commitment to formulating a curriculum responsive to scientific advancements, industry needs, and societal changes.
The workshop was opened by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Auradian Marta, S.IP., M.A., representing the Dean of FISIP UNRI. He stated that curriculum renewal is a top priority for the faculty to produce excellent and competitive graduates at both national and global levels.


“A well-designed RPS serves as the foundation for creating innovative learning processes. We want to ensure that every course is truly oriented toward relevant, measurable, and impactful competency outcomes,” emphasized Dr. Auradian.
The Vice Dean for Finance and General Affairs, Dr. Mayarni, S.Sos., M.Si., expressed the faculty’s support in providing facilities and capacity-building programs for lecturers. Dr. Mayarni added that the quality of learning is determined not only by well-prepared curriculum documents but also by the professionalism of lecturers and a conducive learning environment.

The discussion session was dynamic. Participants actively asked questions, exchanged experiences, and discussed various challenges in curriculum implementation and RPS development within their respective study programs. The discussion resulted in several important recommendations, including refining learning outcome mapping, strengthening active learning methods, optimizing technology in the learning process, and developing more authentic and relevant evaluation instruments.





Through this workshop, FISIP UNRI encourages all study programs to be increasingly consistent in applying innovative principles in RPS development. The faculty hopes that every learning component can respond to scientific developments, stakeholder needs, and future social challenges.
The event concluded with a reaffirmation of the collective commitment to continuously improve learning quality and to position FISIP UNRI as an excellent, progressive educational institution capable of producing intelligent and competitive future generations.(Enggy-RIRY)
