Pekanbaru, May 7, 2026 — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Riau University (UNRI) held a socialization event for the FISIP Impact for the Nation Program (Kukerta Conversion), aimed at all fourth-semester students. The event took place at the Drs. Sutan Balia Auditorium, FISIP UNRI, on Thursday (May 7), starting at 9:00 a.m. WIB until completion.
The event was attended by the leadership of FISIP UNRI, heads of working groups, the Chair and Members of the Impact Campus Team, as well as fourth-semester students from all departments and study programs within FISIP UNRI.
The socialization aimed to provide comprehensive understanding regarding the implementation of the Kukerta conversion program, which is part of efforts to strengthen experiential field-based learning.
In his remarks, the Dean of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., stated that the FISIP Impact for the Nation Program is a strategic initiative to improve the quality of graduates who are not only academically competent but also socially aware and capable of making tangible contributions to society. He emphasized that students are expected to take advantage of this program as a means of self-development and practical implementation of the knowledge they have gained during their studies.

“This program is designed so that students not only learn inside the classroom, but are also able to engage directly with communities, provide solutions, and create sustainable positive impacts,” said Dr. Meyzi.

The Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Auradian Marta, S.IP., M.A., also stated that the Kukerta conversion program through FISIP Impact for the Nation represents the implementation of learning oriented toward strengthening students’ competencies outside the classroom. According to him, the program provides students with opportunities to sharpen their critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills through direct engagement with communities.

“Students must be able to utilize this program as an applicative learning medium that is relevant to community needs. In this way, the experiences gained will not only have academic value but will also become important provisions for their future careers and social service,” he explained.

Meanwhile, the Chair of the Impact Campus Team, Dr. Nurjanah, M.Si., who served as the speaker during the event, provided a detailed explanation regarding the implementation mechanism of the FISIP Impact for the Nation Program, formerly known as Kukerta. She explained the registration stages, activity schemes, and assessment system that will be applied.

“This activity is not merely an academic formality, but a real learning space that demands students’ creativity, collaboration, and adaptability,” she explained.

The socialization session was conducted interactively through a question-and-answer session, during which students enthusiastically sought further information regarding the technical implementation of the program. Through this activity, it is hoped that all fourth-semester students will gain a comprehensive understanding and be fully prepared to participate optimally in the FISIP Impact for the Nation Program.
