Towards the National Community Service Seminar, FISIP UNRI Finalizes Concept and Technical Implementation

Pekanbaru, April 30, 2026 — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Riau (UNRI), held a preparatory meeting for the National Seminar on Community Service for the 2025/2026 Academic Year on Thursday (30/4) at 09:00 WIB. The meeting took place in the DPH Meeting Room, 2nd Floor of the Dean’s Office Building, FISIP UNRI, and involved faculty leaders, heads of working groups (pokja), lecturers, and administrative staff.

The meeting focused on formulating strategic and technical steps for the implementation of the national seminar, which is expected to serve as a platform for disseminating community service outcomes while strengthening cross-disciplinary academic collaboration.

The Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Auradian Marta, S.IP., M.A., in his remarks, emphasized the importance of strengthening the academic substance of the seminar. He noted that the event must be able to address societal needs and contribute to the development of knowledge.

“This seminar is expected to become a productive space for integrating community service outcomes with the advancement of scientific knowledge,” he stated.

Meanwhile, the Vice Dean for Finance and General Affairs, Dr. Mayarni, S.Sos., M.Si., highlighted the importance of preparedness in terms of budgeting and supporting facilities.

“Thorough preparation, particularly in budget management and supporting facilities, is key to ensuring that the event runs smoothly and professionally,” said Mayarni.

She also added that synergy among units within the faculty needs to be strengthened to ensure that all stages of the event are carried out effectively and in a well-coordinated manner.

On the same occasion, speaker Dr. Nurjanah, M.Si., emphasized that the success of the seminar is not only determined by technical aspects but also by the strength of its academic concept. According to her, selecting relevant themes and ensuring practical outcomes are crucial for delivering real impact to society.

“This seminar is not only intended as a forum for scientific discussion but is also expected to produce actionable recommendations and ideas,” she stated.

In addition, the meeting discussed the division of committee responsibilities, the seminar concept, and strategies for engaging participants from both academic and professional backgrounds. This year’s National Community Service Seminar of FISIP UNRI is expected to become a productive scientific forum while strengthening the role of higher education institutions in contributing to community development.
