Pekanbaru, April 30, 2026 — The Department of Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Riau (FISIP UNRI), conducted a monitoring activity for the department’s website and social media platforms on Thursday (April 30) at the Akar Beluru Room, FISIP UNRI. This activity was carried out as part of the preparation for the Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) of PPID FISIP UNRI, particularly in the aspect of managing the department’s digital information channels.
This monitoring serves as a strategic step in strengthening public information governance within the faculty. Through this activity, website and social media administrators were directed to ensure that all digital platforms are managed actively, informatively, systematically, and in accordance with the needs of transparent and accountable public information services.
Acting Head of the Department of Administrative Sciences, FISIP UNRI, Dr. Mayarni, S.Sos., M.Si., emphasized that managing websites and social media can no longer be viewed as an additional activity, but has become an integral part of academic services and public information transparency. According to her, the department’s digital platforms represent the institution’s public image and must be able to provide accurate, timely, and easily accessible information for various stakeholders, including students, lecturers, alumni, and the wider community.

“The department’s website and social media must become dynamic information spaces. Academic information, lecturer and student activities, publications, administrative services, and various departmental agendas need to be well documented and effectively communicated. Through this monitoring, we can assess how far the management of these digital platforms has progressed and identify areas for future improvement,” she stated.
Furthermore, Dr. Mayarni emphasized that strengthening digital media is part of the institution’s commitment to building services that are open, responsive, and adaptive to the development of information technology. She encouraged administrators to work in a more structured manner, from content updates, activity documentation, and publication consistency to presenting information in accordance with institutional standards.
Secretary of the Department of Administrative Sciences, FISIP UNRI, Suryalena, S.Sos., M.Si., also added that consistency in content management is a key factor in maintaining the quality of the department’s digital information. According to her, every academic and non-academic activity should be properly documented so that it can serve as both an information source and a record of the department’s performance.

“Managing websites and social media is not only about publication, but also about building public trust. Therefore, good coordination among administrators, clear division of responsibilities, and a commitment to regularly updating information are essential,” she explained.
Meanwhile, Head of PPID FISIP UNRI, Dr. Fajriani Ananda, S.Sos., M.Si., stated that public information management requires active support from all work units, including academic departments. According to her, the quality of websites and social media platforms is an important indicator in assessing a unit’s readiness to provide open, accessible, and accountable information.
“PPID is not only about the availability of documents, but also about how information is managed, presented, and updated regularly. Department websites and social media platforms play a strategic role as public information channels. Therefore, their management must prioritize information accuracy, posting consistency, and alignment with the principles of public information transparency,” she explained.
Dr. Fajriani also added that this monitoring activity is not merely administrative in nature, but serves as an evaluative momentum to improve digital information governance comprehensively. Each department is encouraged to develop a systematic workflow in content management, starting from planning, collecting publication materials, verifying information, and distributing it through official channels.
Through this activity, the Department of Administrative Sciences, FISIP UNRI, is expected to continuously improve the quality of its digital information management. Strengthening the department’s website and social media platforms is an important step in supporting public information transparency, enhancing academic service quality, expanding the publication of activities, and strengthening the institutional image of FISIP UNRI in the public sphere.
