Preparing Excellent Human Resources, FISIP UNRI Holds ToT Certification and Excellent Service Competency Assessment

Pekanbaru, 24 November 2025 — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Riau (FISIP UNRI), organized a Training of Trainer (ToT) Education and Training Program as well as the Competency Assessment for the Excellent Service Certification Scheme at Royal Asnof Hotel Pekanbaru. This initiative is part of the faculty’s strategic efforts to enhance the capacity of its human resources, both lecturers and educational staff, to deliver professional, responsive services in accordance with national standards.

The training was facilitated by the Smart Entrepreneurship Management Professional Certification Institute (LSP Manajemen Kewirausahaan Cerdas), a certified institution with extensive experience in developing public service competencies. Two assessors—Febriantoni, S.T., M.T., and Anggeh Afelina Hutagaol, S.I.Kom.—delivered materials based on the Indonesian National Work Competency Standards (SKKNI), covering fundamental concepts of excellent service, communication ethics, service needs mapping, and problem-solving techniques in the context of academic services. Participants also took part in competency unit deepening and service simulations designed to reflect real situations in higher education institutions.

The event was attended by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, the Vice Dean for Finance and General Affairs, the Head of the General Affairs Division, the Head of the Working Group Team, and lecturer representatives from all study programs.

Representing the Dean of FISIP UNRI, the Vice Dean for Finance and General Affairs, Dr. Mayarni, S.Sos., M.Si., emphasized that improving service quality is a crucial aspect of strengthening faculty governance. She stated that the excellent service certification reflects FISIP UNRI’s commitment to delivering superior and sustainable academic services.

“FISIP aims to ensure that all academic community members have standardized and measurable service quality. Through this training and certification, we expect services to become more professional, meet student expectations, and adapt to evolving demands.”

Participants showed strong enthusiasm, demonstrated through active group discussions, case study practices, and question-and-answer sessions with the assessors. They also received technical guidance regarding the assessment process, which determines certification eligibility.

The materials delivered by the LSP played a vital role in the overall event. In addition to providing a comprehensive understanding of excellent service standards, the assessors emphasized the importance of professionalism, effective communication skills, and the ability to understand the needs of students as primary service recipients.

Through this training and competency assessment, FISIP UNRI reinforces its commitment to fostering a high-quality work culture. The faculty hopes that this program will strengthen academic services and encourage the creation of a more inclusive, adaptive, and competitive educational environment. (Enggy-RIRY)
