To Improve Lecturer Research Competitiveness, FISIP Unri Holds Coaching Clinic for Research Proposals and Community Service DPPM 2026

Pekanbaru — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Universitas Riau held a Coaching Clinic on the Preparation of Research and Community Service Proposals for the 2026 DPPM Funding Scheme on Wednesday (10/12/2025) at the Royal Asnof Hotel Pekanbaru. This activity aims to improve the quality and readiness of lecturers in preparing competitive proposals.

The event was attended by the Dean of FISIP Universitas Riau, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si.; Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Auradia Marta, S.IP., M.A.; Vice Dean for Finance and General Affairs, Dr. Mayarni, S.Sos., M.Si.; department heads and study program coordinators; the Head of General Affairs; working group (Pokja) leaders from each division; as well as two lecturers representing the KJFD from each department. The presence of leadership elements and lecturer representatives reflects a shared commitment to strengthening research and community service within FISIP.

The event began with remarks from the Dean of FISIP Universitas Riau, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si. In his speech, he appreciated the participation of all attendees and emphasized the importance of the coaching clinic as a strategy to enhance the quality of proposals for the 2026 DPPM funding.

“This activity serves as a strategic momentum to improve lecturers’ capacity in preparing high-quality, relevant, and competitive research and community service proposals, enabling them to contribute significantly to the development of science and society,” Dr. Meyzi stated.

Appreciation was also expressed by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Auradia Marta, S.IP., M.A. She considered this activity crucial for strengthening the research culture within FISIP. According to her, improving proposal quality will directly impact lecturers’ performance achievements and the faculty’s academic reputation.

“We hope that through this coaching clinic, lecturers will become more prepared and confident in submitting research and community service proposals that meet DPPM funding standards,” she said.

Meanwhile, the Vice Dean for Finance and General Affairs, Dr. Mayarni, S.Sos., M.Si., stated that the implementation of this activity is a form of strategic investment by the faculty in strengthening human resources. She emphasized that the faculty fully supports every effort to improve the quality of research and community service carried out by lecturers.

The coaching clinic featured Prof. Dr. Erman Taer, M.Si., as the main speaker, with Meris Essio Mento, M.IP., as moderator. In his presentation, Prof. Erman comprehensively explained strategies for preparing research and community service proposals according to the 2026 DPPM funding schemes and requirements, starting from formulating the background, identifying research novelty, ensuring methodological accuracy, to planning measurable and impactful outputs.

Throughout the session, participants appeared enthusiastic, actively asking questions about various challenges in proposal preparation. The discussion proceeded interactively and productively, providing deeper insights for the participants.

Through this activity, FISIP Universitas Riau hopes to increase both the quantity and quality of research and community service proposals submitted for the 2026 DPPM funding, while strengthening the academic community’s contribution to the development of science and sustainable community empowerment.
