Pekanbaru — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Universitas Riau (UNRI) held the Early Academic Year Gathering 2026 on Wednesday (January 7, 2026) at the FISIP UNRI Pavilion. The event was organized as a strategic moment to strengthen relationships, reinforce synergy, and enhance the quality of governance and academic services within FISIP UNRI as it embarks on the new academic year.
The gathering was attended by the faculty leadership, vice deans, heads and secretaries of departments, study program coordinators, heads of administrative units, functional officials, lecturers, educational staff, and other academic service support personnel of FISIP UNRI. A strong sense of togetherness and family spirit characterized the event, reflecting the solidarity of the FISIP UNRI academic community in supporting the achievement of the faculty’s future performance targets.
The Dean of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the entire academic community for their dedication, hard work, and strong collaboration throughout the previous year. He emphasized that the 2026 academic year marks an important momentum to continue strengthening faculty governance, improving the quality of academic services, and optimizing the achievement of the Key Performance Indicators (IKU).
“This early-year gathering is not merely a routine agenda, but a space for collective consolidation to unify our vision, strengthen collaboration, and enhance our commitment to providing excellent academic services to students and the wider community,” he stated.

On the same occasion, the Head of the MBKM Acceleration Team of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Nurjanah, M.Si., conveyed that FISIP UNRI’s achievement as Second Best MBKM Awardee at Universitas Riau was the result of a shared commitment to consistently implementing the MBKM policy across all study programs. She explained that various MBKM schemes have been implemented in an integrated manner, including student exchanges, internships and independent studies, social projects, and teaching assistance.

“This achievement would not have been possible without the support of the faculty leadership, the active role of supervising lecturers, and the readiness of study programs to adapt the MBKM curriculum. Going forward, we will continue to strengthen the quality of MBKM implementation so that its benefits can be increasingly felt by students,” she explained.
Through the Early Academic Year Gathering 2026, FISIP UNRI reaffirms its commitment to continuously improving the quality of education, academic services, and learning program innovation, in line with Universitas Riau’s vision of becoming an excellent, competitive university oriented toward future needs.(Enggy–RIRY)
