Pekanbaru, 26 February 2026 — The 2027 Planning and Budgeting Work Meeting of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Riau (FISIP UNRI), entered its second day with a series of strategic agendas emphasizing the strengthening of governance and performance commitment. Carrying the theme “Strengthening Governance Towards an Impact-Oriented Campus,” the second day focused on reviewing the Faculty’s Strategic Plan (Renstra), refining work programs, and signing performance agreements.
The session opened with a presentation delivered online by the keynote speaker, Novan Aulia Rohman, S.Kom., M.M., from the University of Jember. He underscored the importance of aligning the Strategic Plan with national policies and key performance indicators of higher education institutions.
“Strategic plans should not merely serve as administrative documents, but must function as strategic instruments capable of translating the vision of an impact-oriented campus into measurable, relevant programs with tangible outcomes for society,” he stated. He further emphasized that an impact-based approach requires strong integration between planning, budgeting, and performance-based evaluation.

The ensuing discussion actively highlighted the strengthening of performance indicators, synchronization of programs across departments and study programs, and strategies for implementing the impact-oriented campus concept within the three pillars of higher education (tridharma).

In the afternoon session, each department and study program presented their 2027 Work Programs, including the Departments of Government Studies, International Relations, Sociology, and Communication Studies, as well as the Master’s Programs in Political Science, Sociology, and Communication Studies. These presentations served as a consolidation forum to ensure alignment between program initiatives, faculty policy directions, and the reviewed Strategic Plan.

The highlight of the second day was the Signing of the 2026 Performance Agreements, involving the Vice Deans and the Dean, Heads of Departments and the Dean, Coordinators of Study Programs and Heads of Departments, as well as Heads of Working Groups and the respective leaders. This signing symbolized a shared commitment to fostering accountable, transparent, and results-oriented governance.

In his remarks, the Dean of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., emphasized that the work meeting is not merely an annual forum, but a momentum to strengthen institutional commitment.

“Through today’s strategic plan review and the signing of performance agreements, we reaffirm that every designed program must have clear success indicators and meaningful impact. FISIP UNRI must move forward as an adaptive, collaborative faculty capable of making tangible contributions to society.”
He also added that the spirit of an impact-oriented campus must be reflected in academic innovation, the strengthening of applied research, and sustainable strategic partnerships.
