Rector of Universitas Riau Officially Opens FISIP UNRI 2027 Planning and Budgeting Work Meeting, Emphasizes Impact-Oriented Governance

Pekanbaru, February 25, 2026 — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Riau (FISIP UNRI), held the 2027 lanning and Budgeting Work Meeting on Wednesday–Thursday, February 25–26, 2026, at the Meeting Room of the FISIP UNRI Lecturers Building. Carrying the theme “Strengthening Governance Toward an Impact-Driven Campus,” this activity served as a strategic forum to align the direction of work programs, planning, and budgeting to be more measurable, synergistic, and impact-oriented.

The meeting was attended by the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems, Dr. Sofyan Husein Siregar, M.Phil., along with the faculty leadership, including the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Vice Dean for Finance and General Affairs, Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Cooperation, Head of General Affairs, Heads of Working Groups, Heads and Secretaries of Departments, Coordinators of Study Programs, Heads and Secretaries of the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMF), Heads of Laboratories, Coordinator of the FISIP Branch Library, BPP, PPK, and PPID of FISIP UNRI.

The Work Meeting was also combined with the February 2026 DPH Meeting, which reviewed performance evaluations for February in the areas of academics, finance and general affairs, as well as facilities and academic infrastructure. On the second day, the forum focused on presentations of the 2027 work programs by the Dean, departments, and study programs. It also featured a presentation on the Review of the FISIP Strategic Plan (Renstra) of Universitas Riau 2025–2029 Based on the Impactful Campus framework by Novan Aulia Rohman, S.Kom., M.M., from Universitas Jember, delivered online. The meeting concluded with the signing of the 2026 Performance Agreement as part of strengthening performance commitment within FISIP UNRI.

The Work Meeting began with remarks from the Dean of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., who emphasized that the meeting was an important momentum to strengthen consolidation among all faculty elements in preparing the 2027 work programs. He stated that strengthening governance must be realized not only in planning but also in program implementation, performance evaluation, and synergy among departments, study programs, and supporting units to ensure optimal achievement of faculty targets.

The official opening of the Work Meeting was conducted by the Rector of Universitas Riau, Prof. Dr. Hj. Sri Indarti, S.E., M.Si. In her remarks, the Rector emphasized the importance of planning and budgeting aligned with the university’s policy directions, performance indicators, and the need to strengthen academic services. She also encouraged that every program designed should deliver tangible impacts, both for the academic community and society, in line with the spirit of building an impact-driven campus continuously promoted at UNRI.

Following the opening ceremony, the agenda continued with the signing of cooperation agreements between FISIP UNRI and its partners, namely Rumah BUMN Pekanbaru and Yayasan Sahabat Berbagi.

Through this work meeting, FISIP UNRI reaffirmed its commitment to formulating a more adaptive, accountable, and impactful 2027 planning and budgeting framework, while also strengthening institutional governance to support the achievement of faculty and university performance targets in 2027.
