
Dumai, November 10, 2025 — The University of Riau (UNRI) held the UNRI Partner Exhibition Day (MUED) 2025 at the Sri Bunga Tanjung Pavilion, Dumai City, on Monday (10/11). The event, themed “UNRI Goes to DUDI (Business and Industrial World),” was officially opened by the Rector of UNRI, Prof. Dr. Sri Indarti, S.E., M.Si., and attended by university leaders, faculty deans, heads of institutions, and heads of work units across UNRI.
The event, organized through collaboration between UNRI and the Dumai City Government, aimed to strengthen synergy between higher education institutions, local government, the business community, and the industrial sector. Attending as guests of honor were Deputy Mayor of Dumai, Sugiyarto, and Chairman of the Dumai City Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD), Agus Miswandi, highlighting the academic and strategic partnership significance of the event.
Rector Prof. Sri Indarti stated that the UNRI Partner Exhibition Day reflects UNRI’s strong commitment to building sustainable partnerships with various external stakeholders.

“This event serves as a collaborative platform between the university, industry, and local government to jointly contribute to human resource development and regional progress in Riau Province,” she said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Mayor of Dumai, Sugiyarto, expressed his appreciation for UNRI’s continuous efforts in fostering cross-sector collaboration. He emphasized that the event marks an important moment to enhance the connection between academia and regional development needs.

“We warmly welcome UNRI’s presence in Dumai. This collaboration is expected to bring tangible benefits, particularly in improving the quality of education, research, and regional potential development,” he said.
The MUED 2025 series included the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and Cooperation Agreements (PKS) between the University of Riau and several strategic partners, including the Dumai City Government, PTPN IV, PT Agrinas, PT POS Indonesia, I-Forte Solusi Infotek, and Pelindo Dumai.








In addition, Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems, Dr. Ir. Sofyan Husein Siregar, M.Phil, delivered a presentation highlighting UNRI’s partnership opportunities and key facilities, including its integrated laboratories and digital-based academic information systems.

The event continued with a UNRI exhibition roadshow, featuring video profiles, leaflets, and information on flagship programs from various faculties—offering the public and regional partners the opportunity to learn more about UNRI’s potential and innovations.
Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., viewed the event as a concrete manifestation of synergy between academia and the professional world that should continue to be developed.
“Events like this reinforce the role of universities as drivers of innovation and cross-sector collaboration. Through partnerships with businesses and industries, research and academic findings can be more rapidly implemented for the benefit of society,” explained Dr. Meyzi. (RIRY)
