Pekanbaru, April 27, 2026 – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Universitas Riau (FISIP UNRI) has once again achieved a notable academic milestone. A student from the Department of Government Studies successfully published a scientific article in a nationally accredited SINTA 2 journal, which has been officially approved to be converted into a final thesis.
Muhamad Nelwan Wahyuda Subekti published his work in Jurnal Bina Praja, a SINTA 2 accredited journal, with the article titled “Balanced e-Government Scorecard of Online Public Services in the Pekanbaru City Population and Civil Registration Office.”

The Dean of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., expressed appreciation for the student’s achievement, highlighting it as a reinforcement of a research- and publication-based academic culture.
“We want our students not only to graduate administratively, but also to leave behind scientific work that contributes meaningfully to the advancement of knowledge. This is a progressive step toward building a strong and competitive academic tradition,” said Dr. Meyzi.
Meanwhile, Acting Head of the Department of Government Studies, Dr. Auradian Marta, S.IP., M.A., stated that this achievement serves as new motivation for other students to take research and publication more seriously.

“This accomplishment shows that Government Studies students of FISIP UNRI are capable of competing at the national level through high-quality scientific work. We hope this will inspire other students to actively conduct research, write, and produce reputable publications.”
He also added that the department will continue to encourage academic mentoring, strengthen research methodology capacity, and foster a culture of scientific writing among students.
