Pekanbaru, January 5, 2026 — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Riau (FISIP UNRI), began 2026 by holding a meeting to discuss the 2026 Faculty Work Program and the First Quarter Work Plan. The meeting was held on Monday, January 5, 2026, at the Akar Beluru Room, 2nd Floor of the FISIP UNRI Dean’s Office.
This meeting served as an initial forum to align policy directions and faculty work priorities for entering the First Quarter of 2026, while also ensuring that all programs are implemented in line with the faculty’s strategic plan.
The meeting was led by the Dean of FISIP and attended by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, the Vice Dean for Finance and General Affairs, the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Cooperation, and Alumni, the Head of General Administration, the Head of the Academic and Student Affairs Working Group, the Head of the Finance and Personnel Working Group, the Head of the General and Academic Facilities Working Group, as well as the Coordinator of the FISIP Branch Library, Universitas Riau.
Dean of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., in his remarks emphasized that early-year work planning is key to maintaining consistent faculty performance throughout 2026.
“As we enter 2026, we need to ensure that all work programs are prepared realistically, in a coordinated manner, and oriented toward improving the quality of academic services, student affairs, and institutional governance. This meeting is an important space to unify steps and shared commitment,” said Dr. Meyzi.

In line with this, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Auradian Marta, S.IP., M.A., highlighted the importance of synchronizing academic programs with the academic calendar and learning quality targets.
“Academic work programs must be designed from the outset in a measurable way so that their implementation remains consistent, both in the learning process, academic evaluation, and the strengthening of graduate quality,” he explained.

Similarly, the Vice Dean for Finance and General Affairs, Dr. Mayarni, S.Sos., M.Si., stated that careful planning would have a direct impact on the effectiveness of budget utilization and the support of faculty infrastructure.
“First Quarter planning serves as an important foundation for managing the budget in an orderly and accountable manner, ensuring that every implemented program is fully supported in terms of financing and facilities,” she said.

From the perspective of student affairs and external networking, the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Cooperation, and Alumni, Dr. Saiman Pakpahan, S.IP., M.Si., who was contacted by phone, emphasized the need for continuity between faculty programs, student development, and partnership strengthening.
“The work agenda agreed upon today is expected to encourage impactful student activities, strengthen cooperation, and maintain good relations with alumni as part of the FISIP UNRI ecosystem,” he remarked.
Through this meeting, FISIP UNRI hopes that all First Quarter 2026 work agendas can be implemented effectively, on target, and serve as a strong foundation for achieving faculty performance throughout 2026. (RIRY, Photo: Enggy)
