Pekanbaru — Universitas Riau (UNRI) convened the Finalization Meeting on the Admission Capacity for the 2026 New Student Admissions on Tuesday (6 January 2026) at the Kunto Darussalam Room, 2nd Floor of the Universitas Riau Rectorate Building. The meeting was attended by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of Universitas Riau, faculty leaders across UNRI, including the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Universitas Riau, as well as representatives of the Graduate School.
This finalization meeting constituted a strategic stage in the process of determining the admission capacity policy for Universitas Riau’s 2026 New Student Admissions. The determination of admission capacity was conducted in a measured, data-driven manner, taking into account the readiness of human resources, the availability of facilities and infrastructure, and the quality of educational delivery in each study program.
In his remarks, the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of Universitas Riau, Dr. Meksasai Indra, S.H., M.H., emphasized the importance of accuracy and alignment between admission capacity data and the actual capacity of each study program. He stated that determining admission capacity is not merely about setting the number of students to be admitted, but also represents the institution’s commitment to maintaining academic quality, ensuring the effectiveness of the learning process, and optimizing educational services for students.

According to him, admission capacity policies must be aligned with Universitas Riau’s vision for quality improvement and support the sustainability of study programs so they remain capable of producing competent and competitive graduates. Therefore, each faculty and work unit is expected to submit valid and accountable data.
Meanwhile, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of FISIP Universitas Riau, Dr. Auradian Marta, S.IP., M.A., conveyed that FISIP UNRI has conducted a comprehensive internal review and evaluation of the proposed admission capacity for each study program within FISIP.
The review covered lecturer-to-student ratios, the availability of classrooms, laboratory capacity and supporting facilities, as well as the readiness of curricula and learning processes.
He affirmed that FISIP UNRI’s active participation in the meeting reflects the faculty’s commitment to safeguarding the quality of new student admissions in line with academic standards and university policies.
On a separate occasion, the Dean of FISIP Universitas Riau, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., expressed his appreciation for the implementation of the admission capacity finalization meeting as a manifestation of strong synergy and coordination between the university and its faculties. He noted that careful, data-based planning serves as a crucial foundation for creating high-quality and sustainable academic governance.
According to him, the active involvement of faculty leadership in the admission capacity determination process is a strategic step to ensure that new student admissions are oriented not only toward quantity, but also toward the quality of higher education delivery.
Through this finalization meeting, Universitas Riau is expected to determine the 2026 New Student Admission capacity accurately, transparently, and accountably, thereby supporting the continuous improvement of higher education quality within Universitas Riau. (Enggy-AM)
