
Pekanbaru, November 12, 2025 — The Journal Management Board of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Riau (FISIP UNRI), held a meeting with the University Information and Communication Technology Unit (UPA TIK UNRI). The discussion, which took place in the UPA TIK meeting room, focused on the planned migration of the “Aksara” system for academic journal management, while also exploring opportunities to strengthen collaboration in developing academic publication systems within FISIP UNRI.
The meeting was attended by the Coordinator of FISIP UNRI’s Journal Management Board, Dr. Zulkarnaini, S.Sos., M.Si., along with team members Dr. Tantri Puspita Yazid, S.I.Kom., M.A., and other journal management staff. Representing UPA TIK were Dr. Ibnu Daqiqil, S.Kom., M.T.I., Ph.D., Head of UPA TIK UNRI, and the technical staff.
During the discussion, both parties addressed strategies for system transition, data adjustments, user training, and the necessary technical support to ensure the migration process runs smoothly and sustainably.
The Dean of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., expressed his appreciation for the ongoing support and collaboration with UPA TIK.
“Digital transformation in academic journal management is a vital part of efforts to improve academic quality at FISIP. We highly appreciate the synergy with UPA TIK, which has consistently supported the acceleration of digital system integration across the university,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Dr. Ibnu Daqiqil, S.Kom., M.T.I., Ph.D., Head of UPA TIK UNRI, reaffirmed his unit’s commitment to continuously strengthening information technology infrastructure to support academic and research publication activities at UNRI.
“The migration of the Aksara system is not merely a technical upgrade, but part of the university’s digital transformation toward more effective, secure, and integrated academic governance. We hope this collaboration serves as a model of synergy between units within UNRI to enhance the quality of academic journal management,” he said.
The meeting concluded with a discussion session and the formulation of follow-up steps for implementing the new system. Through this collaboration, FISIP UNRI reaffirms its commitment to continuous innovation in supporting the quality and credibility of academic publications at both national and international levels.
