Quality Culture as a Shared Commitment: FISIP UNRI Celebrates the Achievement of ISO 21001:2018 Certification and Superior Accreditation

Pekanbaru — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Riau (FISIP UNRI), held an event on Strengthening Academic and Institutional Quality Culture through ISO 21001:2018 Certification, along with a Thanksgiving Ceremony for the Achievement of Superior Accreditation, on Monday, December 15, 2025. The event, which took place at the Drs. Sutan Balai Auditorium, FISIP Universitas Riau, was attended by faculty leaders, heads of departments and study programs, lecturers, educational staff, and the entire academic community of FISIP UNRI.

The event began with remarks from the Dean of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., who expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the entire academic community for their commitment, hard work, and collaboration in strengthening the academic and institutional quality culture within FISIP UNRI. He emphasized that the success in achieving ISO 21001:2018 Certification and Superior Accreditation was inseparable from the synergy of all faculty elements who consistently implemented quality assurance principles.


“This achievement is not the end, but rather an important foundation for continuously improving the quality of educational governance, academic services, and sustainable institutional development,” he stated.

Subsequently, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Auradian Marta, S.IP., M.A., also conveyed his appreciation for the shared commitment to realizing higher education quality standards. He stressed that the implementation of the ISO 21001:2018 Quality Management System and the attainment of Superior Accreditation must be accompanied by continuous improvements in the quality of learning, research, and community service.

The Vice Dean for Finance and General Affairs of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Mayarni, S.Sos., M.Si., added that the achievement of ISO 21001:2018 Certification and Superior Accreditation also reflects the strengthening of accountable, service-oriented institutional governance. According to her, the implementation of a quality management system encourages all work units to operate in a more orderly, measurable, and consistent manner in delivering services to the academic community and stakeholders.

“Quality culture must be directly experienced by students, whether through student services, the strengthening of cooperation networks, or the role of alumni. With clear and measurable standards, the faculty can ensure that every student development program is implemented in a more focused and sustainable manner,” stated Dr. Saiman Pakpahan, S.IP., M.Si., Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Cooperation, and Alumni.

The series of activities continued with the presentation of the ISO 21001:2018 Certificate by the Head of the ISO 21001:2018 Team of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Baskoro Wicaksono, S.IP., M.IP., to the Dean of FISIP UNRI. This handover symbolized FISIP UNRI’s success in meeting international standards for educational organization management systems.

The event was also combined with a thanksgiving ceremony for FISIP UNRI’s achievement of ISO 21001:2018 Certification, as well as the success of the Business Administration Study Program and the Department of Government Science (Undergraduate Program) in obtaining Superior Accreditation. These achievements are regarded as strategic milestones in strengthening FISIP UNRI’s academic reputation and enhancing its competitiveness at the national level.

Through this event, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Riau, reaffirmed its commitment to continuously strengthening academic and institutional quality culture, in line with the faculty’s vision of realizing excellent, accountable, and competitive higher education governance.
