
Pekanbaru — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Universitas Riau held a Coordination Meeting on Asset Optimization on Monday, 15 December 2025. The activity was conducted as a strategic measure to enhance the governance, utilization, and optimization of faculty assets in an effective, transparent, and sustainable manner.
The coordination meeting was attended by the Director of the Universitas Riau Business Management Agency (BPU), Rio Jonnes Martahan Marpaung, S.E., M.M., and the Secretary of BPU UNRI, Clara Yolandika, S.P., M.Si. The meeting was also attended by the Dean of FISIP Universitas Riau, the Vice Dean for Finance and General Affairs, the Head of the General Affairs Division, the Head of the General Affairs and Academic Facilities Working Group, as well as tenants of the FISIP canteen and educational outlets.
In his remarks, the Dean of FISIP Universitas Riau, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., emphasized that asset optimization is a crucial component of strengthening the faculty’s institutional capacity, particularly in supporting the sustainability of academic and non-academic services. He stated that asset management must be carried out in a professional and accountable manner and in accordance with university regulations and the policies of the Public Service Agency (BLU).

“Faculty assets are not merely physical facilities; they also hold strategic value in supporting the implementation of the university’s tridharma. Therefore, synergy among the faculty, the university, and management partners is essential to ensure that asset utilization provides optimal benefits for the institution,” said the Dean of FISIP.
Meanwhile, the Vice Dean for Finance and General Affairs of FISIP Unri, Dr. Mayarni, S.Sos., M.Si., noted that this coordination activity serves as an important forum to align perspectives regarding the mechanisms for managing and leasing faculty assets. She highlighted the importance of administrative order, regulatory clarity, and service quality improvement in the utilization of FISIP assets.

“We hope that through this coordination, the management of FISIP assets can be more structured and transparent, while also making a positive contribution to institutional revenue and reputation,” she explained.
On the same occasion, the Director of BPU Universitas Riau, Rio Jonnes Martahan Marpaung, S.E., M.M., expressed his appreciation for FISIP Universitas Riau’s initiative in organizing the asset optimization coordination meeting. He reaffirmed BPU Unri’s commitment to continuously assist faculties in managing business-related assets, including aspects of cooperation agreements, leasing schemes, and increasing the value and benefits of university assets.
“BPU Unri is ready to synergize with FISIP to ensure that asset management is carried out in accordance with BLU provisions, while at the same time providing added value for both the faculty and Universitas Riau,” he stated.
The coordination meeting also specifically discussed several strategic assets owned by FISIP Universitas Riau, including the leasing of educational outlets and the FISIP canteen, the utilization of the Sutan Balia Auditorium, and the management of the photography room. These discussions were conducted openly with the involvement of tenants to gather input and align the interests of the faculty and business partners.
Through this activity, FISIP Universitas Riau hopes to achieve increasingly optimal and professional asset management, oriented toward improving service quality and strengthening the faculty’s institutional self-reliance within the Universitas Riau environment. (ENGGY-MY)
