Pekanbaru, April 29, 2026 — The Business Administration Study Program, Department of Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Riau, welcomed a visit from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) Riau Representative Office on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. The activity took place at the Postgraduate Studio of FISIP Universitas Riau and was held as part of the preparation for a student visit to IDX Riau scheduled for May 6, 2026.
The agenda was related to the Capital Market Analysis course and was designed to enrich students’ understanding of the investment world and the mechanisms of the capital market in Indonesia. Through this activity, students are expected to gain a more comprehensive understanding of securities trading practices, the role of the stock exchange in the economy, and the importance of healthy and responsible investment.
The session was led by Dr. Lena Farida, M.Si., as the lecturer of the Capital Market Analysis course. The course coordinator, Dra. Ruzikna, M.Si., stated that capital market learning would be more effective when combined with direct field experience.

“Students should not only understand theory in the classroom but also need to see firsthand how capital market institutions operate and contribute to the economy,” she said.

Meanwhile, the Coordinator of the Business Administration Study Program, Dr. Lie Othman, S.Pi., M.Si., expressed appreciation for the presence of IDX Riau on campus. According to him, this collaboration is a strategic step in building synergy between higher education institutions and industry.
“This activity is essential to provide learning that is relevant to the development of the financial and investment sectors, so that students are better prepared to enter the workforce,” Dr. Lie remarked.
A representative of IDX Riau, Abdi Kurnia Andika, serving as Branch Representative, emphasized that capital market literacy among students needs to be continuously expanded. He noted that the younger generation has great potential to become smart investors as well as agents of financial education in society.

The upcoming student visit to IDX Riau on May 6, 2026, will be part of experiential learning. In addition to receiving direct exposure to the capital market, students will also gain closer insight into the role of capital market institutions in supporting national economic growth.
The Business Administration Study Program hopes that students will enhance their knowledge, critical thinking, and analytical skills regarding capital market dynamics. On the other hand, this activity also marks an initial step in strengthening institutional collaboration between higher education institutions and the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the fields of financial and investment education.
