OJT Participants from UPA TIK UNRI Develop Digital Communication Skills at FISIP

Pekanbaru, November 10, 2025 — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Riau (FISIP UNRI), welcomed On the Job Training (OJT) participants — Widya, Saffanah Qurrotaa, and Mazar — who will undertake practical training in public relations. The participants come from the Information and Communication Technology Academic Implementation Unit (UPA TIK) of Universitas Riau. This program is part of a collaboration between the Vocational and Productivity Training Center and UNRI, aimed at enhancing competencies in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

The OJT program will take place over 20 working days, from November 5 to December 2, 2025. Before starting their placement, the participants had undergone intensive training focused on creating visual content for social media.

During their time at FISIP UNRI, the OJT participants will assist the FISIP Public Relations Team in various communication activities, including the creation and management of social media content (graphic design, short videos, and infographics), planning and scheduling of content uploads, as well as strengthening the faculty’s digital communication strategies.

The participants were officially welcomed by Head of Public Relations FISIP UNRI, Dr. Fajriani Ananda, S.Sos., M.Si., representing the faculty leadership, along with Public Relations staff member, Hanggy Ardo, S.Kom. Throughout the program, the participants are mentored directly by Ahmad Fauzan, a staff member from UPA TIK UNRI who provides technical guidance and supervision.

Dean of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., stated that the OJT program represents a strategic collaboration in supporting human resource development within Universitas Riau.

“We warmly welcome the OJT participants from UPA TIK to FISIP. This program offers valuable opportunities for them to gain firsthand experience in how public communication and information management are carried out within a higher education institution. We hope this experience will strengthen their skills in supporting the university’s digital communication strategies,” said Dr. Meyzi.

Through this OJT program, participants are expected to gain practical experience in supporting faculty publications and documentation activities while deepening their understanding of the role of information technology in strengthening public communication within FISIP UNRI. (RIRY)
