Pekanbaru — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Riau (FISIP UNRI), organized the Ramadan Friday Qur’an Recitation Program 1447 Hijri as an effort to enliven the holy month of Ramadan while strengthening spiritual values and togetherness within the faculty. This program is conducted regularly every Friday throughout the month of Ramadan.
The inaugural activity took place on Friday, February 20, 2026, starting at 08:00 a.m. (WIB) until completion, at the DPH Meeting Room, 2nd Floor, FISIP UNRI. The program was attended by the faculty leadership, the head of the FISIP UNRI prayer room (mushola), and all administrative staff as a collective commitment to fostering a religious, harmonious, and blessed working environment.
In its implementation, the Friday Qur’an Recitation Program is designed as a collective khatam (complete recitation) of the Holy Qur’an. The recitation of verses is divided among all administrative staff of FISIP UNRI, beginning with the Dean and the faculty leadership and concluding with the Head of the FISIP UNRI Mushola, Sofyan Hadi, S.Sos., M.Si. This system is expected to encourage active participation, strengthen togetherness, and foster a collective spirit in completing the recitation of the Qur’an during the holy month of Ramadan.
In his remarks, the Dean of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., stated that the Ramadan Friday Qur’an Recitation Program was designed as a routine agenda to strengthen spiritual values, improve the quality of worship, and enhance fellowship among the academic community. He emphasized that this activity is part of the effort to build a religious, harmonious, and character-oriented work culture.

Meanwhile, the Vice Dean for Finance and General Affairs of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Mayarni, S.Sos., M.Si., noted that the program serves as an important momentum to enhance spiritual awareness while strengthening togetherness in the workplace. According to her, the Friday Qur’an Recitation Program is expected to become a medium for self-reflection, reinforcing integrity, and building a work ethic based on sincerity and responsibility.
“Through this activity, we hope that all administrative staff can improve the quality of their worship, strengthen fellowship, and cultivate a spirit of togetherness in carrying out their duties and services at FISIP UNRI,” she said.

Furthermore, this activity is expected to help shape a work culture grounded in religious values and togetherness. The presence of all administrative staff reflects the institution’s commitment to creating a conducive, harmonious, and character-oriented working environment.
Through the continuous implementation of the Ramadan Friday Qur’an Recitation Program, FISIP UNRI hopes that the momentum of the holy month of Ramadan can be optimally utilized as a means of self-reflection, spiritual enhancement, and strengthening the spirit of togetherness in carrying out duties and services in the field of education.
