Pekanbaru, December 4, 2025 — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Universitas Riau, through the Complaints, Assistance, and Health Corner (P2K) FISIP, organized a Free Health Check-Up (PKG) program for the entire academic community. This initiative reflects the faculty’s commitment to improving health awareness and serves as a preventive measure against potential illnesses through collaboration with Puskesmas Simpang Baru Pekanbaru.
The PKG activity was held for two days, Thursday–Friday, December 4–5, 2025, located in the Faculty Staff Room, 1st Floor of the FISIP Dean Building, from 08.30 to 11.00 WIB. The services provided included screening for Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), such as checking body weight, height, blood pressure, and blood sugar levels. In addition, participants also received mental health assessments, as well as HIV and tuberculosis (TB) screening as part of an integrated early detection and health education effort.
To support the smooth implementation of the PKG, Puskesmas Simpang Baru deployed a complete medical team equipped with experts in their respective fields. The screening and health check services were led by dr. Susi Andriani, accompanied by drg. Julia Sabatini Ginting, along with other medical personnel: Sarianti, Nevi Surya Nengsi, Maulidya, Minarni, Eni Novita, and Sri Darmi. The team was also assisted by internship students from the Nursing Profession Program at IKes Payung Negeri Pekanbaru: Rossa Anjani, Indri Nababan, and Berliana Tri Julianda. Their presence allowed participants to receive comprehensive examinations and consultations.
The Dean of FISIP Universitas Riau, Dr. Mevzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., officially opened the event and was the first participant to undergo the health check-up. He expressed appreciation for the successful implementation of the program and the enthusiastic participation of the academic community.

“This free medical check-up program is a form of FISIP’s concern for the health and well-being of the entire faculty community. The collaboration with Puskesmas Simpang Baru is a strategic step to bring promotive and preventive health services directly to our campus environment. We hope this program will continue and provide real benefits for the entire academic community,” he stated.
The Vice Dean for Finance and General Affairs, Dr. Mayarni, S.Sos., M.Si., also conveyed her appreciation, emphasizing that this activity aligns with the faculty’s efforts to create a healthy and productive campus environment.

Through this program, FISIP Universitas Riau reaffirms its commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle on campus and ensuring accessible health services for students, lecturers, and staff. The ongoing collaboration with Puskesmas Simpang Baru is expected to serve as a foundation for strengthening future health programs that are more routine and well-integrated.
