Pekanbaru, 31 December 2025 — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Riau (FISIP UNRI), closes the year 2025 with a range of achievements born of integrity, commitment, consistent work, and a shared spirit of continuous improvement. This year marked an important phase in FISIP UNRI’s efforts to strengthen academic quality, institutional governance, and scholarly contributions to society.
Throughout 2025, FISIP UNRI actively carried out various academic agendas, strengthened institutional governance, and advanced student development. These initiatives were designed to ensure that educational processes remain aligned with the demands of the times, while reinforcing the faculty’s role as a space for the growth of relevant and impactful social and political scholarship.
In line with this commitment, FISIP UNRI continued to strengthen the implementation of the Integrity Zone toward a Corruption-Free Area (WBK) and a Clean and Service-Oriented Bureaucracy Area (WBBM). This effort was realized through improvements in service systems, the reinforcement of an integrity-based work culture, and enhancements in service quality oriented toward public satisfaction and trust.
Strengthening a culture of quality was also a major focus throughout 2025. This was reflected in FISIP UNRI’s success in obtaining ISO 21001:2018 Certification, alongside several study programs achieving “Excellent” accreditation. These accomplishments underscore FISIP’s seriousness in safeguarding the quality of learning, academic governance, and sustainable educational services.
The implementation of the tridharma of higher education continued to be directed toward delivering tangible impact. Through research and Community Service (Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat/PKM) activities, FISIP UNRI engaged directly with communities through fostered village programs, capacity building for local communities, and collaboration with local governments and strategic partners in responding to emerging social issues.
The international academic atmosphere was also strengthened through the organization of the 3rd ISEEP scientific conference, international community service programs, seminars, and collaborations with universities at home and abroad. Lecturer exchange programs, research collaborations, and inter-institutional academic forums provided spaces for sharing ideas while expanding the academic networks of the FISIP UNRI community.
The year 2025 was also marked by the active participation and achievements of FISIP UNRI students in various MBKM programs, academic competitions, entrepreneurship initiatives, and social community activities. The MBKM Kukerta programs (10 and 20 credits) implemented across various areas of Pekanbaru City served as platforms for contextual learning as well as for strengthening students’ character, leadership, and social awareness.
As part of efforts to accelerate the digital transformation of faculty services, FISIP UNRI launched the PIAWAI and SIPIRANG applications as innovations in personnel services and room reservation systems. The presence of these applications is expected to facilitate service access, improve work efficiency, and deliver more transparent and integrated service systems for lecturers, administrative staff, and students.
The commitment to public information transparency also yielded proud results. The PPID of FISIP UNRI achieved First Place at the Universitas Riau level and earned national recognition as one of Indonesia’s Best Implementing PPIDs, receiving a Bronze Medal. This achievement represents acknowledgment of the faculty’s sustained efforts to provide accountable, responsive, and easily accessible information services to the public.
A commitment to inclusivity and sustainability was also an integral part of FISIP UNRI’s journey throughout 2025, demonstrated through the provision of facilities friendly to vulnerable groups and the creation of a campus environment that is safe, comfortable, and grounded in humanitarian values.
This year-end reflection serves as a moment to evaluate achievements while setting a more focused direction for the future. Every process and result attained throughout 2025 becomes valuable capital in facing the challenges and opportunities of the coming year.
Our sincere gratitude is extended to the entire FISIP UNRI family—lecturers, administrative staff, students, alumni, partners, and all parties who have contributed and walked together throughout this year.
Happy New Year 2026. May it be welcomed with renewed spirit, stronger collaboration, and an enduring commitment to continuously realizing FISIP UNRI as an excellent, integrity-driven, and impactful faculty.
Warm regards,
