Pekanbaru, December 1, 2025 — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences collaborated with the Institute for Quality Assurance and Learning Development of Universitas Riau (LPMPP UNRI) to organize a Seminar and Workshop on Preparing for Accreditation by the Independent Accreditation Board for Social, Political, Administrative, and Communication Sciences (LAMSPAK). This event, aimed at strengthening the readiness of the faculty and study programs in facing the accreditation process, took place in the Pakning Theater Room, 1st Floor, Integrated Classroom Building, Universitas Riau.
The event began at 08.30 WIB and was attended by the leadership of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of Universitas Riau (FISIP UNRI), department heads, study program coordinators, lecturers, and the faculty’s quality assurance staff. The presence of faculty leadership demonstrated FISIP UNRI’s commitment to ensuring academic quality through standardized accreditation processes.
As the chair of the organizing committee, Dr. Yesi Olivia, S.IP., M.Int.Rel., welcomed the participants and explained that this activity was designed not only to provide technical understanding of LAMSPAK accreditation but also to strengthen collaboration among study programs in building a culture of quality.
“This activity serves as an important space for us to align our understanding and enhance our capacity in preparing for LAMSPAK accreditation. We hope that each study program can work more systematically, support one another, and remain focused on continuous quality improvement,” she stated.

The Head of LPMPP UNRI, Dr. Belli Nasution, S.IP., M.A., officially opened the event. In his remarks, he emphasized that accreditation preparation should be understood as part of building a holistic quality culture rather than merely fulfilling documentation requirements.
“Preparing for LAMSPAK accreditation is not just about completing forms but ensuring that the quality of education delivery is genuinely guaranteed. Through this seminar and workshop, we aim to enhance readiness and reinforce the commitment of all FISIP UNRI stakeholders,” he explained.

The Dean of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., in his speech, expressed appreciation to LPMPP and the entire committee. Dr. Meyzi emphasized that synergy among faculty leaders, departments, and study programs is the key foundation for maintaining accreditation quality. He also shared updates on accreditation achievements within FISIP UNRI: the Master of Sociology Study Program successfully earned an “Excellent” accreditation rating, while the Business Administration Study Program is awaiting assessment results. These achievements are expected to motivate other study programs to continue improving their quality.
Dr. Meyzi reaffirmed FISIP UNRI’s commitment to maintaining and improving accreditation ratings through systematic and sustainable collective efforts.
During the main session, participants attended a presentation on the LAMSPAK accreditation system and instruments delivered by Dr. Wawan Budi Darmawan, S.IP., M.Si. The material covered fundamental concepts, recent policy updates, and revisions to the accreditation instruments. The session was interactive, featuring discussions on challenges in implementing the latest instruments.

After the socialization session, the event continued with the LAMSPAK Accreditation Form Preparation Workshop facilitated by the Accreditation Center of LPMPP UNRI. The workshop provided department heads and study program coordinators the opportunity to practice preparing accreditation documents, starting from data mapping and narrative writing to performance analysis as key assessment indicators.
This seminar and workshop serve as a strategic effort by LPMPP UNRI to enhance the readiness of study programs within FISIP UNRI in facing LAMSPAK accreditation. Through this activity, it is expected that each study program will be able to consistently apply quality standards and meet accreditation requirements based on outcomes and the latest instruments established by LAMSPAK.
