Inaugural Lecture of the Even Semester 2025/2026, FISIP UNRI Ensures Optimal Academic Services and Facilities

 

Pekanbaru, January 26, 2026 — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Universitas Riau officially commenced lectures for the Even Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Year on Monday (January 26, 2026). Academic activities resumed actively from the morning, marked by students’ attendance in various classrooms and the implementation of teaching and learning processes in accordance with the scheduled timetable.

Several study programs began their lectures with an atmosphere of enthusiasm. Classroom discussions, material presentations, and lecturer–student interactions once again enlivened the campus environment after the inter-semester break.

To ensure readiness for the first day of lectures, the Dean of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., together with the faculty leadership, conducted direct monitoring in several classes. Accompanying him were the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Auradian Marta, S.IP., M.A.; the Vice Dean for Finance and General Affairs, Dr. Mayarni, S.Sos., M.Si.; the Head of General Affairs, Susi Heptariani Z., S.E., M.Ak.; the Head of the Academic and Student Affairs Working Group, Muhammad Arsyad, S.Kom., M.Si.; and the Head of the General and Academic Facilities Working Group, Rudiman, S.Sos. This activity included checking the smooth implementation of lectures, the readiness of facilities and infrastructure, as well as the attendance levels of lecturers and students.

Dean of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., expressed his appreciation for the preparedness of all faculty elements in welcoming the new semester. He emphasized that academic administrative readiness, the availability of learning facilities, and the discipline of lecturers and students are key factors in maintaining educational quality.
“We appreciate the readiness of the entire FISIP academic community in preparing for this semester’s lectures. Student attendance from the first day reflects a shared commitment to maintaining the quality of learning. This serves as an important foundation for creating a conducive and productive academic atmosphere.”

Meanwhile, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Auradian Marta, S.IP., M.A., stressed the importance of consistent implementation of lectures in accordance with the academic calendar and the Semester Learning Plan (RPS). According to him, punctuality and discipline from the beginning of the semester will significantly influence the effectiveness of learning until the end of the term.
“Lectures that begin on time and proceed as planned form the foundation for achieving student learning outcomes. We encourage both lecturers and students to maintain an academic rhythm from the outset so that learning targets can be achieved optimally,” he explained.

From the facilities support perspective, the Vice Dean for Finance and General Affairs, Dr. Mayarni, S.Sos., M.Si., stated that the faculty has ensured all learning facilities are ready for use, ranging from classrooms and supporting equipment to a comfortable learning environment, so that teaching and learning activities can proceed without obstacles.
“We strive to ensure that all supporting facilities for lectures are in good condition so that the teaching and learning process can run smoothly. A comfortable learning environment is an essential part of supporting students’ concentration and productivity,” she noted.

Students attending lectures on the first day also welcomed the resumption of face-to-face activities positively. They expressed enthusiasm about returning to discussions with lecturers and direct interactions within the campus environment.

Entering the Even Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Year, FISIP Universitas Riau reaffirmed its commitment to continuously improving educational quality, strengthening academic governance, and preparing graduates who are excellent, adaptive, and ready to compete in the professional world.
