Pekanbaru, November 3, 2025 — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Riau (FISIP UNRI), through the International Relations Student Corps (KOMAHI), officially opened the International Relations Horizon 2025 event on Monday (3/11) at the Drs. Carrying the theme “Beyond Stereotype: Youth Action for Gender Equity,” the event featured two main agendas — an International Seminar and an Entrepreneurship Seminar. The event was attended by FISIP leadership, lecturers, and International Relations students. Both sessions aimed to broaden students’ global perspectives while fostering leadership and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
In her remarks, the Chairperson of the Committee, Natasya Simanjuntak, stated that the event serves as a platform for International Relations students to develop adaptive, competitive, and globally competent characters.

“We aim to create a learning space that not only focuses on theory but also strengthens students’ character and skills to face global challenges,” she said.
Meanwhile, the Commander of KOMAHI, M. Raqqat Caesar Hendranto, emphasized the importance of students’ role as agents of change capable of applying global knowledge to address local issues.

“International Relations students must act as a bridge between global issues and the realities of the communities around us,” he said.
Head of the Department of International Relations, Dr. Yusnarida Eka Nizmi, S.IP., M.Si., expressed her appreciation for the successful organization of the event. She hoped that International Relations Horizon would become an annual agenda that continuously enhances students’ creativity and self-actualization.

Dean of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., also appreciated the initiative and enthusiasm of International Relations students in organizing international-themed academic events.

“Students must be able to think globally and act locally. Today, diplomacy is not only carried out at the negotiation table but also through entrepreneurship and social innovation,” Meyzi emphasized.
The opening of International Relations Horizon 2025 was marked by a ribbon-cutting and traditional tumpeng ceremony led by the Dean of FISIP UNRI, witnessed by faculty leaders, lecturers, and students. The event continued with a group photo session and a lively modern dance performance by the Semesta Art Troupe of HI FISIP UNRI, which enlivened the atmosphere.

Later in the day, the event proceeded with the International Gender Seminar titled “From Awareness to Action: Youth-Led Pathways to Preventing Gender-Based Violence.” The seminar featured two speakers — Dr. Mustiqowati Ummul Fithriyah, M.Si. (Vice Dean III of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences, UIN Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau) and Dr. Yusnarida Eka Nizmi, S.IP., M.Si.
