FISIP of Universitas Riau Supports Impact-Oriented KUKERTA 2026 through Participation in FGD and RKA-KL Handover

Pekanbaru — Universitas Riau (Unri), through the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), organized a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on the Technical Guidelines for the Impact-Oriented Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata—KUKERTA) of Universitas Riau for 2026, combined with the Handover of the 2026 Ministry/Agency Work Plan and Budget (Rencana Kerja dan Anggaran Kementerian/Lembaga—RKA-KL), on Tuesday (December 22, 2025). The event took place at the Labersa Grand Hotel & Convention Center, Kampar.

The FGD was attended by the Rector of Universitas Riau, Prof. Dr. Sri Indarti, S.E., M.Si.; the Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni, Prof. Dr. Hermandra, M.A.; the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems, Dr. Ir. Sofyan Husein Siregar, M.Phil.; deans of faculties; and heads of institutes and work units within Universitas Riau. Also in attendance was the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Universitas Riau, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., along with other members of the faculty leadership.

In his opening report, the Head of LPPM Universitas Riau, Prof. Dr. Mubarak, M.Si., stated that the FGD aimed to provide comprehensive understanding to all stakeholders regarding the technical guidelines for implementing the Impact-Oriented KUKERTA in 2026. The program is designed to strengthen students’ roles in community service in alignment with regional needs and national development policies.

“Through Impact-Oriented KUKERTA, Universitas Riau encourages students not only to be present in communities, but also to deliver sustainable and measurable solutions that support the achievement of Higher Education Key Performance Indicators (KPIs),” said Prof. Mubarak.

The event was officially opened by the Rector of Universitas Riau, Prof. Dr. Sri Indarti, S.E., M.Si. In her remarks, the Rector emphasized the importance of synergy and alignment of programs across the university, faculties, and work units to ensure the success of Impact-Oriented KUKERTA and the management of the 2026 budget. She also underscored that sound planning is a key factor in realizing programs that generate tangible benefits for both society and the institution.

During the material presentation session, Dr. Evi Deliana HZ, S.H., LL.M. delivered a presentation on the Technical Guidelines for the Impact-Oriented KUKERTA Program of Universitas Riau for 2026. The presentation focused on strengthening the design of KUKERTA programs that are community needs-based, collaborative, and integrated with educational and research activities. This session was followed by an interactive discussion and Q&A, reflecting the high level of participant engagement in understanding the future direction of the KUKERTA program.

Subsequently, the Rector of Universitas Riau presented material on strategic steps for implementing the 2026 budget. This presentation was further reinforced by the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems, Dr. Ir. Sofyan Husein Siregar, M.Phil., who provided a detailed explanation of the planning and budgeting process at Universitas Riau, including the principles of transparency, effectiveness, and accountability.

As part of the event series, the 2026 RKA-KL was formally handed over by the Rector of Universitas Riau to the leaders of faculties, institutes, and work units. This handover symbolized a shared commitment to implementing programs and managing budgets in alignment with the vision, mission, and strategic plan of Universitas Riau.

In his statement, the Dean of FISIP Universitas Riau, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., expressed appreciation for the implementation of the FGD. According to him, the FGD holds strategic value for the faculty in aligning Impact-Oriented KUKERTA policies with academic programs, community service initiatives, and faculty-level budget planning.

“This FGD serves as a very important forum for FISIP Universitas Riau to gain a comprehensive understanding of the Impact-Oriented KUKERTA policy as well as the direction of planning and budgeting for 2026. With a shared understanding, faculties can design programs that are measurable, impactful, and aligned with the vision of Universitas Riau,” said Dr. Meyzi.

He further emphasized FISIP Universitas Riau’s commitment to actively supporting the implementation of Impact-Oriented KUKERTA through the involvement of lecturers and students across study programs, while ensuring that faculty budget planning supports the strengthening of the tridharma of higher education.
“FISIP Unri is ready to synergize and contribute optimally so that the KUKERTA program is not merely an academic requirement for students, but is also able to deliver tangible and sustainable benefits to the community,” he added.

Through this activity, Universitas Riau is expected to further strengthen coordination and collaboration among work units, enhance the quality of Impact-Oriented KUKERTA implementation, and realize professional, impact-oriented planning and budgeting governance in 2026.
