Risk Management Document Review: FISIP UNRI Holds Workshop on Risk Management Document Evaluation

Pekanbaru — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Universitas Riau (UNRI) held a Workshop on the Evaluation of Risk Management Documents on Thursday (15 January 2026). The activity took place in the DPH Meeting Room, 2nd Floor of the FISIP UNRI Dean’s Building, and was attended by the faculty leadership, the FISIP UNRI Risk Management Team, and members of the faculty’s management.

This workshop formed part of FISIP UNRI’s ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional governance through the review and refinement of risk management documents. The evaluation aimed to ensure that every faculty program and policy is implemented in accordance with the principles of accountability, transparency, and measurable, sustainable risk control.

The event opened with remarks from the Dean of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., who emphasized that risk management plays a strategic role in supporting the achievement of the faculty’s performance targets. Systematic risk management, he noted, is essential to anticipating potential challenges across academic, non-academic, and institutional governance areas.

Dr. Meyzi also expressed his appreciation to the FISIP UNRI Risk Management Team for its consistency in updating and evaluating risk management documents in line with policy dynamics and the increasing complexity of institutional management. He expressed hope that the outcomes of the workshop would be implemented concretely by all work units within the faculty.

Meanwhile, the Vice Dean for Finance and General Affairs, Dr. Mayarni, S.Sos., M.Si., added that the workshop served as a forum for reflection to assess the extent to which risk management implementation has progressed. According to her, the evaluation of risk management documents is not merely administrative in nature, but rather a crucial foundation for leaders in decision-making and the formulation of more adaptive, long-term-oriented policies.

In the same vein, the Chair of the FISIP UNRI Risk Management Team, Dr. Lie Othman, S.Pi., M.M., underscored the importance of shared understanding across all work units regarding roles and responsibilities in risk control, so that a comprehensive risk-aware culture can develop throughout the FISIP UNRI environment.

The workshop featured Novan Aulia Rahman, S.Kom., M.M., as a resource person, who delivered his presentation online. In his session, he outlined the technical stages of preparing and evaluating risk management documents, ranging from risk identification and risk level assessment to the development of practical mitigation strategies. The discussion session was dynamic, with active participation from attendees who shared questions, feedback, and experiences from their respective work units.

Through this workshop, FISIP UNRI reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening internal control systems and risk management as a foundation for realizing good, accountable, and sustainable faculty governance.
