February 2026 Graduation: FISIP UNRI Confers Degrees on 311 Graduates, Dean Reminds Them of Their Social Responsibility

Pekanbaru, February 10, 2026 — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Riau (FISIP UNRI), took part in the Open Senate Meeting of Universitas Riau held in conjunction with the February 2026 Graduation Ceremony. This moment marked the completion of the academic journey as well as the beginning of the graduates’ service to society.

Based on the graduation data for the February 2026 period, a total of 311 students from FISIP UNRI were conferred degrees, consisting of graduates from the Undergraduate and Master’s Programs.
In the Undergraduate Program, the graduates came from:

Sociology: 37 graduates
Public Administration: 38 graduates
Business Administration: 34 graduates
Communication Studies: 79 graduates
International Relations: 44 graduates
Travel Business: 11 graduates
Government Studies: 50 graduates

Meanwhile, the Master’s Program produced graduates from:

Master of Public Administration: 8 graduates
Master of Communication Studies: 7 graduates
Master of Sociology: 3 graduates

The Dean of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., when met at the Student Center, expressed his appreciation to all graduates for their academic achievements and emphasized that FISIP graduates hold a strategic role in social life.

“FISIP UNRI graduates are equipped not only with academic competence, but also with social awareness, integrity, and moral responsibility. We hope that our graduates will become agents of change who uphold ethical values, democracy, and social justice wherever they are,” said Dr. Meyzi.

Dr. Meyzi further added that the diversity of disciplines at FISIP UNRI serves as a strength in addressing development challenges at the regional, national, and global levels.

“Future social and political challenges will become increasingly complex. Therefore, FISIP graduates must be adaptive, critical, and able to make tangible contributions to policymaking and community empowerment.”

Through the February 2026 graduation ceremony, FISIP UNRI reaffirmed its commitment to continuously producing graduates who are excellent, principled, and dedicated to community service and national development. (RIRY, Photo: UNRI Public Relations)
