Pekanbaru, April 20, 2026 — Universitas Riau (UNRI) held a meeting to determine the admission results for prospective new graduate students for the Odd Semester of the 2026/2027 Academic Year, Wave I, on Monday (April 20), at Balairung Siak Sri Indrapura. The meeting marked a crucial stage in ensuring that the selection process was conducted in accordance with the academic quality standards set by the university.
The activity constituted the final phase of a series of graduate admissions processes, which had previously included registration, administrative verification, and academic selection by each study program. During this meeting, all selection results were thoroughly reviewed to determine candidates who met the established criteria for admission.
In her remarks, UNRI Rector Prof. Dr. Sri Indarti, S.E., M.Si., emphasized that the determination of admission results must uphold the principles of objectivity, transparency, and accountability. She stressed that the quality of graduates is shaped from the very beginning of the selection process, and therefore must not be handled carelessly.
“The determination of admission results must be carried out professionally and with integrity, in accordance with the academic standards established by the university. This serves as the foundation for producing high-quality human resources at the graduate level.”
Meanwhile, the Director of Graduate Program at UNRI, Prof. Dr. dr. Dedi Afandi, DFM, SpFM, Subsp. EM(K), MM, MARS, MH, stated that the meeting served as a strategic forum to align the selection outcomes from all study programs before being officially finalized by the university. He highlighted the importance of careful verification of all data and assessment results.
“Through this meeting, we ensure that the entire selection process has been carried out in accordance with the regulations and results in high-quality decisions—not only academically, but also in terms of administrative completeness required from prospective students,” he explained.
The meeting was attended by the university leadership, including Vice Rectors, the Director and Deputy Director of the Graduate Program, as well as Deans and Vice Deans for Academic Affairs from each faculty, the Head of the Bureau of Academic and Student Affairs, the Head of the ICT Unit, and other related officials who play important roles in supporting the selection process, particularly in administrative and academic information systems aspects. Also present was Dr. Auradian Marta, S.IP., M.A., representing the leadership of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), who contributed to the evaluation of the selection results.
Responding to the implementation of the meeting, Dr. Auradian Marta, S.IP., M.A., stated that the process of determining the admission results was conducted systematically, transparently, and accountably. He noted that synergy among units is key to ensuring that each stage of the selection process runs optimally.
“Strong coordination among units ensures that each prospective student is assessed fairly and in accordance with the applicable standards. This reflects a shared commitment to maintaining academic quality within UNRI,” he said.
With the finalization of the Wave I admission results, UNRI hopes to attract prospective graduate students who are not only academically excellent, but also possess integrity, competitiveness, and readiness to contribute to the advancement of knowledge, research, and community service.
