FISIP UNRI and International Partners Carry Out Academic Collaboration and Tourism Community Service Program in Yogyakarta

Yogyakarta, May 12, 2026 — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of Universitas Riau (FISIP UNRI), through the Department of Communication Science, has strengthened its international network by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Memorandum of Agreement (MoA), and Implementation Agreement (IA) with Association for Collaboration in Worldwide Academia, Boxoro Innovatsion Ta'lim Va Tibbiyot Universiteti, and Samarkand International School of Science and Technology.

The signing ceremony was held at Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta as part of efforts to strengthen international collaboration in education, research, and community service, particularly in the tourism sector. The signing was attended by the Head of the Department of Communication Science at FISIP UNRI, Dr. Rumyeni, along with delegates from the international partner institutions.

The Dean of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, expressed appreciation for the successful establishment of this international partnership as a strategic step in expanding FISIP UNRI’s academic network at the global level.

According to him, international collaboration is an essential part of supporting the development of higher education quality, particularly in strengthening the academic capacity of lecturers and students.

Through this partnership, FISIP UNRI, through the Department of Communication Science, is committed to expanding cross-border academic collaboration, including the development of international programs that support the improvement of educational quality and the strengthening of both student and faculty capacity in facing global challenges.

In addition to the signing ceremony, the series of activities also included the implementation of the International Community Service Program, focusing on tourism. The community service activities were carried out in Yogyakarta, involving academics and participants from various international institutions.

This international collaboration is expected to become a strategic step in enhancing FISIP UNRI’s academic reputation at the global level while opening broader opportunities for future collaboration, both in academic development and community service. (Ringgo-Enggy)
