UNRI and the Government Investment Center Sign Memorandum of Understanding, FISIP UNRI Supports Strengthening Institutional Collaboration

Pekanbaru, April 14, 2026 — Universitas Riau (UNRI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government Investment Center in an official event held at the Kunto Darussalam Room, 2nd Floor of the UNRI Rectorate Building, Binawidya Campus Km 12.5 Panam, Tuesday (14/4/2026). This activity is part of UNRI’s efforts to expand strategic partnerships with government institutions to support institutional strengthening, capacity development, and enhance the contribution of higher education to national development.

The event was led by the Rector of UNRI, Prof. Dr. Sri Indarti, S.E., M.Si., attended by the Vice Rector for Finance and General Affairs, Deans across UNRI including the Dean of FISIP UNRI Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., the Head of LPPM, Head of LPMPP, Director of Postgraduate Program, Head of Academic and Student Affairs Bureau, Head of Finance and General Affairs Bureau, Head of Planning, Cooperation and Public Relations Bureau, Head of Information, Cooperation and Public Relations Team, Head of Cooperation Working Group, staff of the Cooperation Working Group, and public relations staff. From the partner side, the Head of the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Treasury of Riau Province as well as a member of the UNRI Board of Supervisors, Adnan Wimbyarto, along with his delegation, and representatives from the Government Investment Center led by President Director Ismed Saputra and his team were also present.

The Head of the Regional Office of DJPB Riau Province and UNRI Board of Supervisors, Adnan Wimbyarto, emphasized that synergy between higher education institutions and government agencies is an important step that must continue to be strengthened. “Cooperation like this is a positive step in building mutually supportive relationships between higher education institutions and government agencies. We hope this collaboration will bring tangible benefits and encourage the creation of impactful programs.”

Furthermore, the President Director of the Government Investment Center, Ismed Saputra, expressed hope that the signing of this MoU would mark a positive beginning for developing a productive institutional relationship between the Government Investment Center and UNRI. The event continued with the official signing of the MoU between Universitas Riau and the Government Investment Center, followed by the exchange of souvenirs and a group photo session before the event concluded.

The Dean of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., stated that the signing of this MoU reflects a strategic step by the university in building broader and more relevant institutional networks. According to him, higher education institutions today require cross-sector collaboration to ensure institutional development becomes more adaptive, responsive, and impactful. “FISIP UNRI warmly welcomes this collaboration as part of strengthening synergy between the university and strategic partners. Such cooperation is essential to support institutional development while enriching an academic ecosystem that remains relevant to current needs,” said Dr. Meyzi.

FISIP UNRI views that strengthening the partnership between UNRI and the Government Investment Center can serve as a foundation for the development of various collaborative programs that will benefit the institution, academic community, and society at large. (RIRY)
