UNRI 2027 Development Planning Forum: FISIP Focuses on Sharpening Priorities, Strengthening Data, and Clarifying Impact

Dumai, February 6, 2026 — Universitas Riau (UNRI) held the 2027 Development Planning Forum (Musrenbang) in conjunction with the Presentation of 2025 Performance Achievements, on February 6–8, 2026, at The Zuri Hotel, Dumai. This forum served as an important meeting point to sharpen program priorities, align Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and strengthen budgetary support for 2027, while also preparing the institutional work direction for the coming year.

The Musrenbang was attended by members of the university leadership, the University Senate, faculty leaders, and service units within UNRI. The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) UNRI was represented by the Dean and Vice Deans as a demonstration of the faculty’s commitment to strengthening performance-based planning aligned with the university’s strategic needs.

In her address, the Rector of UNRI, Prof. Dr. Sri Indarti, S.E., M.Si., emphasized that the Musrenbang must produce focused planning with measurable outcomes. She also highlighted the importance of strengthening data and ensuring clarity of program impact so that all units move in the same direction toward shared goals.

“This Musrenbang serves as a momentum to unify our direction: programs must be performance-based, data-driven, and clearly impactful. Achievements, challenges, and realistic plans are essential so that the university’s targets can be achieved collectively,” said Prof. Sri Indarti.

The Rector added that synchronization between program planning and budgetary support would enhance implementation effectiveness, accelerate the achievement of KPIs, and ensure more efficient use of university resources to improve the quality of the tridharma and institutional governance.

Responding to this, the Dean of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., who was met on the sidelines of the event, stated that the Musrenbang is a strategic forum to ensure that faculty plans are not developed in isolation, but are closely aligned with the university’s broader agenda. He stressed the importance of clear priority setting and strengthening cross-unit collaboration to ensure that proposed programs deliver tangible impact.

“The Musrenbang provides space for faculties to reaffirm priorities: what is most urgent, what has the greatest impact, and how these support the university’s KPIs. Therefore, planning must be structured with clear parameters and accountable targets,” said Dr. Meyzi.

The Dean also affirmed FISIP UNRI’s readiness to provide accurate, evaluation-based data, as well as to articulate the need for strengthening academic and student services in line with university targets. He noted that open discussions of challenges during the Musrenbang would enable the university to formulate faster and more coordinated solutions.

“When issues are mapped together in a forum like this, the resulting solutions tend to be more realistic, measurable, and executable across units.”

Through the UNRI 2027 Musrenbang, the university aims to establish increasingly accountable and results-based planning and budgeting, ensuring that all faculties and work units share a common roadmap to strengthen institutional performance in the 2027–2028 period.
