Pekanbaru — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Riau (UNRI), actively participated in the Socialization of Regulations on Organizational Structure and Governance (OTK), the University Statute, and the implementation of OTK at Universitas Riau, held on Monday (February 9, 2026). The event was conducted in a hybrid format, with offline sessions at the Kunto Darussalam Room, 2nd Floor of the Rectorate Building of Universitas Riau, and online via a virtual conferencing platform, to reach all leaders of work units within UNRI.
FISIP UNRI was directly represented by the Dean of FISIP, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si, along with the faculty leadership team. The event was attended by the Rector of Universitas Riau, the Chair of the Senate, Vice Rectors, the Senate Secretary, Heads of Bureaus, the Head of the Internal Supervisory Unit (SPI), all Faculty Deans, the Director of Postgraduate Studies, the Director of the Teaching Hospital, the Heads of LPPM and LPMPP, the Director of the Business Management Agency (BPU), as well as the Heads of Technical Implementation Units (UPT) and Administrative Service Units (UPA) within Universitas Riau.
In her remarks, the Rector of Universitas Riau, Prof. Sri Indarti, S.E., M.Si, emphasized that this socialization serves as a strategic step to accelerate the implementation of the new organizational structure and governance system, ensuring that all work units share a common understanding of their respective policies, duties, and functions.

“This OTK reform aims to strengthen institutional governance, enhance performance effectiveness, and ensure that all work units move in alignment with the vision and mission of Universitas Riau. Therefore, synergy and shared commitment are essential in its implementation,” stated Prof. Sri Indarti. She also highlighted the importance of communication, coordination, and cross-unit collaboration to ensure that the OTK implementation runs optimally and has a tangible impact on improving the quality of academic services, administration, research, and community service.
Responding to this, the Dean of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, conveyed that FISIP UNRI is fully prepared to support university policies by adjusting its organizational structure and governance at the faculty level. According to him, this socialization provides clear direction and essential guidelines in the process of institutional transformation.

“FISIP UNRI is committed to promptly following up on the outcomes of this socialization through strategic measures at the faculty level, so that the implementation of OTK can run effectively, professionally, and accountably, and directly contribute to improving the quality of services for the academic community,” he stated.
Furthermore, he added that proper implementation of the OTK would promote a more structured, transparent, and adaptive work system in response to the dynamic development of higher education. Through active participation in this activity, FISIP UNRI hopes to contribute optimally to the realization of excellent and competitive governance at Universitas Riau, oriented toward enhancing the quality of the university’s tridharma: education, research, and community service.
