
Pekanbaru, January 28, 2026 — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Riau (FISIP UNRI), officially inaugurated the Bermasa Digital Park and the FISIP UNRI Lecturer Building on Wednesday (28/1/2026) at 09:00 a.m. WIB. The inauguration ceremony was centered at the Integrity Zone Park of the FISIP UNRI Postgraduate Building, Bina Widya Campus Km 12.5, Simpang Baru, Pekanbaru.
The event was attended by the Rector of Universitas Riau, Prof. Dr. Hj. Sri Indarti, S.E., M.Si., the Dean of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., along with the leadership of FISIP UNRI. Also present were vice deans, the head of general affairs, heads of academic and student affairs working groups, finance and personnel, general affairs and academic facilities, heads and secretaries of departments, study program coordinators within FISIP, the Head of SPMF, the Head of Laboratories, the Coordinator of the Branch Library, representatives of BPP and PPK FISIP, as well as all teaching staff and education personnel of FISIP UNRI.
In his remarks, the Dean of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., expressed his gratitude and emphasized that the presence of the Bermasa Digital Park—supported by the Bengkalis Regency Government—and the FISIP Lecturer Building is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the quality of the academic environment while providing more representative spaces for the implementation of the tridharma of higher education. He conveyed that these new facilities are expected to become vibrant spaces for discussion, collaboration, and the strengthening of a productive academic culture. “These facilities not only enhance the campus landscape but also improve comfort, scientific interaction, and the spirit of better academic services at FISIP UNRI,” said Dr. Meyzi.


The Rector of UNRI, Prof. Dr. Hj. Sri Indarti, S.E., M.Si., who delivered her remarks prior to the inauguration, highlighted the importance of upgrading facilities and infrastructure as a foundation for improving the quality of higher education institutions. She encouraged that the newly inaugurated facilities be utilized optimally to support lecturers’ performance, student services, and the strengthening of the institution’s academic reputation. “Facility development must go hand in hand with performance improvement and a culture of quality. Let us make these new spaces catalysts for academic productivity, research, and increasingly excellent educational services,” said Prof. Sri.


The inauguration of the Bermasa Digital Park was marked by the signing of a plaque, ribbon-cutting, and a group photo session. The delegation then moved to the Lecturer Building for a similar inauguration ceremony, followed by a building tour and a communal meal before the event concluded.






Through this inauguration, FISIP UNRI reaffirms its commitment to creating a more modern and comfortable campus environment that supports the enhancement of academic service quality and scholarly activities of the academic community. (RIRY, Photo: Enggy)
