Producing Job-Ready Graduates, FISIP UNRI Holds Impactful Internship Workshop

Pekanbaru, April 16, 2026 — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Riau (FISIP UNRI), held a Workshop on the Impactful Internship Guidelines aimed at enhancing understanding and optimizing the implementation of internship programs within the faculty. The event took place in the DPH Meeting Room of FISIP UNRI on Thursday (April 16), starting at 1:30 PM WIB.

The workshop was attended by the Dean of FISIP along with all Vice Deans, Heads of Working Groups, the Secretary of SPMF, Heads of Departments and Study Program Coordinators, the Head and Members of the Impactful Campus Team, as well as administrative staff.

In his remarks, the Dean of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., stated that the impactful internship program is a strategic component in supporting higher education policies oriented toward strengthening students’ competencies in the workforce.

“Internships are not only an academic requirement but also a strategic platform to prepare students for the professional world. Therefore, a shared understanding and structured guidelines are essential,” said Dr. Meyzi.

Meanwhile, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Auradian Marta, S.IP., M.A., emphasized the importance of synergy among units to ensure the effective implementation of the impactful internship program in line with the intended learning outcomes.

During the presentation session, the Head of the Impactful Campus Team of FISIP, Dr. Nurjannah, M.Si., provided a detailed explanation of the implementation guidelines for impactful internships, covering execution mechanisms, roles of each stakeholder, and program success indicators. She described the workshop as a strategic forum to align perspectives while addressing various technical challenges in the field.

“We aim to ensure that every student gains relevant and meaningful internship experiences, both for the students themselves and for the community,” she explained.

The discussion session was moderated by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Auradian Marta, S.IP., M.A. During the Q&A session, participants actively raised questions regarding technical aspects of internship implementation, partnership schemes with stakeholders, and various challenges faced by each study program.

FISIP UNRI hopes that the implementation of the Impactful Internship Program will become more structured, measurable, and capable of making a tangible contribution to improving the quality of its graduates. (Enggy-RIRY)
