Accelerating Pathways to a Master’s Degree, FISIP UNRI Holds Fast Track Program Socialization

Pekanbaru, April 15, 2026 — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Riau (FISIP UNRI), held a socialization session for the Fast Track Program for sixth-semester students of the Sociology Department and the Public Administration Study Program. The event took place at the Drs. Sutan Balia Auditorium, FISIP UNRI, starting at 09:00 WIB until completion.

The event was attended by the Dean of FISIP UNRI along with all Vice Deans, the Head of the Undergraduate Sociology Department and the Head of the Master’s Program in Sociology, the Head of the Undergraduate Public Administration Study Program and the Head of the Master’s Program in Public Administration, as well as lecturers from each department and study program.

This socialization aimed to provide students with an understanding of the accelerated study (fast track) program, which allows them to continue their education to the master’s level more efficiently.

In his remarks, the Dean of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., stated that the fast track program is a strategic initiative to enhance the quality of graduates who are competitive and excel. He explained that the program can be implemented because both undergraduate and master’s programs in the Sociology Department and the Public Administration Study Program have received excellent accreditation, enabling the integration of accelerated study pathways.

“The fast track program provides an opportunity for students to shorten their study period while enhancing their academic capacity. Therefore, students are expected to prepare themselves optimally to participate in this program successfully,” said Dr. Meyzi.

Meanwhile, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Auradian Marta, S.IP., M.A., provided a detailed explanation of the fast track program mechanism, including requirements, registration procedures, and the benefits students can gain. According to him, the program is designed to respond to the increasingly dynamic and competitive demands of higher education.

“Through the fast track program, students can not only save time in completing their studies but also have greater opportunities to develop academic competencies and professional readiness from an early stage,” explained Dr. Auradian.

The event also featured an interactive question-and-answer session between students and speakers. Participants took advantage of this opportunity to gain deeper insights into the program’s technical aspects, academic requirements, and future prospects.

Through this activity, students are expected to gain a comprehensive understanding of the fast track program and be motivated to take advantage of this opportunity as part of their personal development and academic advancement in the future. (Enggy-RIRY)
