Strengthening Governance, FISIP UNRI Joins Socialization on Civil Servant and PPPK Discipline

Pekanbaru, September 17, 2025 — Universitas Riau (UNRI) held a socialization program on regulations concerning the discipline of Civil Servants (ASN) and Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK). The event, organized by the Bureau of Organization and Human Resources of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), took place in the Siak Sri Indrapura Room, 4th Floor of the UNRI Rectorate Building, Wednesday (17/9).

The socialization featured a keynote speaker from the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology (Ditjen Diktiristek), Adi Sulistyo, S.H., M.H., who delivered materials on Government Regulation No. 94 of 2021 concerning Civil Servant Discipline and Kemendikbudristek Regulation No. 13 of 2023 on PPPK Discipline.

The event was officially opened by UNRI’s Head of Finance and General Bureau, Evi Nadhifah Prihatini, S.Si. In her remarks, she emphasized that the discipline regulations for ASN and PPPK must be fully understood by all employees. “These regulations serve as an important guideline to uphold professionalism, ethics, and better governance within higher education institutions,” she stated.

The program was attended by representatives from all units within UNRI. From the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) UNRI, participants included the Vice Dean for Finance and General Affairs, Dr. Mayarni, S.Sos., M.Si; Head of General Affairs, Susi Heptariani Z., SE.Ak., M.Ak; Head of the Finance and Human Resources Working Group, Novri Yeni Indra, S.Kom., M.Si; Head of the Department of Public Administration, Dr. Febri Yuliani, S.Sos., M.Si; Head of the Department of Government Science, Dr. Muchid, S.Sos., M.Phil; Head of the Department of International Relations, Dr. Yusnarida Eka Nizmi, M.Si; Head of the Department of Communication Science, Dr. Rumyeni, S.Sos., M.Sc; Head of the Department of Sociology, Dr. Achmad Hidir, M.Si; as well as two FISIP staff members.

FISIP UNRI Vice Dean, Dr. Mayarni, expressed her appreciation for the program. According to her, the socialization not only deepened understanding of the regulations but also served as a means of evaluation and strengthening work culture within the faculty. “Through this socialization, we are reminded of the importance of discipline—not only as a rule but as a commitment to provide the best service for society and students,” she remarked.

Meanwhile, in his presentation, Adi Sulistyo explained key points of the ASN and PPPK discipline regulations, including types of violations, applicable sanctions, and enforcement mechanisms. He emphasized that discipline is not merely administrative but also aimed at fostering integrity, responsibility, and a strong work ethic among employees.

The program also provided an interactive discussion space. Participants were given the opportunity to raise questions and share cases commonly encountered in their respective units, ensuring the materials were not only theoretical but also practical and contextual for higher education settings.

Through this initiative, it is expected that all participants will be able to implement the discipline regulations more effectively and share this knowledge with their respective units. In doing so, UNRI aims to strengthen institutional governance, create a professional work environment, and uphold the integrity of higher education institutions. (Enggy-WD)
