Pekanbaru, September 19, 2025 – Green Society organized an educational and socialization event titled “GreenPay” at the New Pavilion of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Riau, on Friday, September 19, 2025. The event was attended by students of the Criminology Sociology class with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of environmental concern.
The GreenPay program was introduced by the Green Society team: Fatmawati, S.Sos., M.Si.; Savitri Endah Lestari, S.A.B., M.A.B.; Ardian, S.E., M.B.A.; Munawir Siahaan, S.Ip., M.Si.
This innovation is designed to encourage active participation of the younger generation, especially students, in environmental protection. Through this concept, participants were invited to understand the added value of eco-friendly behavior, such as waste management, recycling, and contributions to reducing environmental crimes.
In addition to the introduction of GreenPay, the event also featured a special session on environmental crime delivered by the lecturer of the Criminology Sociology course, Azzahra Handhika G. Fajri, S.Hum., M.Krim. The discussion addressed various forms of environmental violations, their impact on society, and prevention strategies through the active role of individuals and communities.
The head organizer from Green Society stated that this activity was not only intended to provide knowledge but also to inspire students to take direct action in creating a healthier and more sustainable environment.
“Students play a vital role as agents of change. Through GreenPay, we aim to foster awareness that every small act of protecting the environment will have a significant impact on our shared sustainability,” said a Green Society representative.
With this initiative, students are expected to gain a deeper understanding of the urgency of environmental issues while also actively engaging in real solutions. Green Society, together with Criminology Sociology students, reaffirmed their commitment to continuous collaboration in presenting eco-friendly innovations on campus and within the wider community.
