Implementation of Electronic Signatures for UNRI Student Diplomas, FISIP UNRI Ready to Support the Digital Transformation of Academic Services

Pekanbaru, May 13, 2026 — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Riau (FISIP UNRI), has demonstrated its commitment to supporting the implementation of Electronic Signatures (TTE) for Universitas Riau student diplomas as part of strengthening the digital transformation of academic services within the university environment. The socialization of the TTE implementation was held on Wednesday (13/5/2026) at the Kunto Darussalam Room, 2nd Floor, UNRI Rectorate Building.

Led by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mexsasai Indra, S.H., M.H., and attended by all Deans within UNRI along with related stakeholders involved in strengthening the academic service system and campus digital transformation, Dr. Mexsasai emphasized that the implementation of Electronic Signatures is not merely an adaptation to technological developments, but also a strategic step by Universitas Riau in strengthening a modern, effective, and trustworthy university governance system.

“The implementation of Electronic Signatures on diplomas is a strategic step by UNRI in strengthening a more effective, secure, and accountable academic service system. This digital transformation is an important part of providing easier services while also increasing trust in the authenticity of academic documents at UNRI.”

On the occasion, the Diploma Authentication and Digitalization System (SANDI) was introduced. The system is designed to enhance security, accelerate service processes, and simplify access to and verification of academic documents for students and alumni. The system is expected to provide academic services that are increasingly effective, integrated, and adaptive to the needs of the digital era.

Following the event, the Dean of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., stated that FISIP UNRI warmly welcomes the implementation of TTE and is fully prepared to support it as part of efforts to improve the quality of academic governance and services that are increasingly responsive to technological developments.

“Digital transformation in academic services has become an unavoidable necessity. FISIP UNRI fully supports the implementation of Electronic Signatures because they will provide convenience, efficiency, and improve service quality for students and alumni. We are ready to adapt and optimize this system in supporting better academic governance,” said Dr. Meyzi.

Furthermore, Dr. Meyzi added that digital innovations such as TTE are part of broader efforts to build a professional, effective academic ecosystem that is oriented toward high-quality public services.

The implementation of TTE within UNRI is expected to create greater efficiency in administrative processes, strengthen document security, and simplify diploma authentication for various academic and professional needs. This step also reinforces UNRI’s commitment to accelerating the digital transformation of higher education in Indonesia. (RIRY)
