Pekanbaru, September 16, 2025 — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Universitas Riau held a send-off ceremony for students who are part of the Indonesian Student Sports Development Board (BAPOMI) Riau contingent to compete in the 19th National Student Sports Week (POMNAS) in East Java in 2025.
The send-off was led by the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Collaboration of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Saiman, S.IP., M.Si. In his remarks, he gave motivation and words of encouragement to the athletes, emphasizing that the participation of FISIP UNRI students in the national sports event is both a source of pride and a testament to the faculty’s contribution in supporting the development of students’ talents and achievements.
Dean of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., also expressed his high appreciation to the students who successfully qualified to strengthen the BAPOMI Riau contingent. According to him, this achievement proves that FISIP excels not only academically but also consistently nurtures non-academic achievements.
“We are proud that FISIP students are able to demonstrate their quality at the national level. Hopefully, this will motivate other students to continue excelling,” he said.
The FISIP UNRI students competing in POMNAS XIX are, Muhammad Rafly Al-Farras (Basketball, Business Administration Program), Fazle Mawla Pasha Pahlevi (Basketball, International Relations Program), Nurmaizar (Petanque, Business Administration Program)
The ceremony concluded with a joint prayer and spirited chants, reflecting the full support of the FISIP UNRI academic community for the athletes as they represent Riau on the national stage. (Enggy, RIRY)
