Pekanbaru, August 2, 2025 — The closing ceremony of the 2025 Student Orientation Program (PKKMB) at Universitas Riau (UNRI) was held with great enthusiasm and vibrant energy at the Open Space Field, Bina Widya Campus. The event was attended by the university's top leadership, led by the Rector, along with all Vice Rectors, Heads of Institutes, Heads of Academic Implementation Units (UPA), the PKKMB committee, Task Force Team, and student volunteers.
From the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Dean Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., Vice Dean for General Affairs and Finance Dr. Mayarni, S.Sos., M.Si., and Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Cooperation Dr. Saiman, S.IP., M.Si. were present to show their full support at the event.
The ceremony was made even more memorable with a formal speech and official closing declaration delivered by the Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni, Prof. Dr. Hermandra, M.A., on behalf of the Rector of UNRI, Prof. Dr. Sri Indarti, S.E., M.Si. In his message, Prof. Hermandra emphasized that PKKMB is not merely a ceremonial event, but a milestone for instilling the core values that will guide new students throughout their academic journey at UNRI.


“Through PKKMB, we do more than introduce the campus environment—we also affirm character, foster empathy, and cultivate a spirit of collaboration. New students must be prepared to become resilient, respectful, and intelligent individuals ready to face the challenges of the times,” he conveyed.
Beyond the formal agenda, the event featured 10 synchronized and creative papermob formations performed by the new students. These formations showcased key symbols of UNRI, the STECU theme, and captivating Riau cultural icons, including the UNRI logo, UNRI's academic culture: ASRI (Amanah, Santun, Responsif, and Inovatif), UNRI BERDAMPAK, PKKMB 2025, UNRI UNGGUL, UNRI “Jantung Hati Masyarakat Riau,” UNRI “World Class University,” PACU JALUR, ISTANA SIAK, and PKKMB 2025 “STECU” — Spirit, Tenacity, Empathy, Intelligence, Excellence.
The excitement continued with entertainment performances by students, sponsors, and musical acts. The celebration concluded with the viral Aura Farming Pacu Jalur dance, enthusiastically participated in by the new students. This moment highlighted a spirit of togetherness, the promotion of local culture, and pride in being part of the UNRI family.




Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, Dean of FISIP UNRI, expressed his appreciation for the new students’ enthusiasm:
“Today’s event was extraordinary. The spirit shown by our new students is a vital asset for their journey ahead. At FISIP, we are ready to accompany, guide, and ensure they grow into individuals of integrity who are prepared to compete. Thank you to the entire committee, Task Force Team, volunteers, and everyone who worked hard to make this PKKMB a success,” stated Dr. Meyzi.
UNRI PKKMB 2025 carried the theme “STECU: Spirit, Tenacity, Empathy, Intelligence, Excellence”, which was reflected in every part of the program from the opening to the closing. The presence of university leaders, faculty members, committees, and volunteers throughout the event symbolized UNRI’s strong commitment to guiding its new students to become competitive and integrity-driven individuals.
