From Evaluation to Improvement, FISIP UNRI Strengthens Its Steps Through the Management Review Meeting

Pekanbaru, September 25, 2025 – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Riau (FISIP UNRI), held a Management Review Meeting (RTM) in the 2nd Floor Meeting Room of the FISIP Dean Building. The event was attended by the faculty leadership, department heads, program coordinators, laboratory heads, the Head of General Affairs, and Working Group (Pokja) leaders within FISIP.

The meeting was officially opened by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Auradian Marta, S.IP., M.A., representing the Dean of FISIP. In his remarks, Dr. Auradian emphasized that RTM is not merely a routine agenda but an important momentum to evaluate performance, strengthen governance, and enhance the quality of both academic and non-academic services.

“The Management Review Meeting is a platform for all of us to unite our steps, address weaknesses, and strengthen existing advantages. I hope this forum produces actionable recommendations so that FISIP becomes more adaptive to change and contributes significantly to Universitas Riau’s vision of becoming an excellent and competitive university,” he said.

Following this, the Vice Dean for Finance and General Affairs, Dr. Mayarni, S.Sos., M.Si., also underlined the importance of managing resources—both financial and infrastructural—effectively, efficiently, and with clear targets. She further added that the principles of transparency and accountability must serve as the foundation of every step in faculty management.

The session was then moderated by the Secretary of the FISIP UNRI Quality Assurance Unit (SPM), Dr. Evawani Elysa Lubis, M.Si., who presented the results of the faculty’s previous performance evaluation along with several key notes for quality improvement. She stressed that RTM is an integral part of the quality assurance cycle, and therefore the recommendations produced must be followed up by all working units.

The forum proceeded with interactive discussions featuring various strategic inputs, ranging from the strengthening of academic systems and administrative services to the improvement of learning support facilities. Through this forum, it is expected that evaluative as well as innovative recommendations will emerge to reinforce FISIP UNRI’s position as a center for the development of social and political sciences at both the national and international levels.
