Pekanbaru, September 10, 2025 — The Islamic Student Study Organization (LSMI) Almadani of Universitas Riau successfully organized ALMADANI Expo 2025, carrying the theme “Spark the Change: The Light of Islam from Campus Towards a New Civilization” and the sub-theme “Walking in Unity, Enlivening Da’wah.” Held at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Universitas Riau, the event became a platform for students to foster the spirit of da’wah while strengthening Islamic brotherhood (ukhuwah Islamiyah).
In his remarks, the Dean of FISIP Universitas Riau, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., expressed high appreciation for the success of the event. He emphasized that the expo not only enriches Islamic insights but also helps shape student character and leadership grounded in moral and spiritual values.
“We fully support positive activities like this. Hopefully, through this expo, students can become agents of change who bring the light of Islam into campus life and society. The campus must indeed be a lighthouse of civilization, but the light of religion must always be present as guidance,” he said.
The Chairman of LSMI Almadani, Ahmad Arya Fahlevi, stressed the important role of young people in reviving the spirit of da’wah in the modern era. He underlined that ALMADANI Expo is not merely a ceremonial event, but a momentum to strengthen brotherhood, nurture creativity, and present tangible contributions of students in building civilization.
“We want to create an atmosphere of da’wah that is creative, joyful, and down-to-earth. May this event serve as our collective first step in spreading the light of Islam from campus toward a better civilization,” he stated.
Support also came from the Governor of BEM FISIP Universitas Riau, Muhammad Ali Suhadi, who emphasized the importance of synergy between intra- and extra-campus student organizations in strengthening unity in both creativity and da’wah.
The series of ALMADANI Expo 2025 activities will run for the next three days with a variety of engaging programs. In addition to student exhibitions, the expo also features Islamic discussions on current issues, as well as competitions such as Nasyid, Scientific Writing Competition (LKTI), Debate, and Futsal. There are also several online contests, including Poster Design, Muslimah Love Letter, and Videography.
The entire program involves students across different faculties and even includes high school students from across Pekanbaru, making ALMADANI Expo 2025 not just an event for one community, but a celebration for the whole Universitas Riau academic community together with the wider student society.
As the highlight, the expo will feature a Qur’an Seminar with inspirational speaker Ustadz Khairuddin Ahmad Jaiz, Lc., accompanied by an interactive Q&A session. The seminar is expected to deepen Islamic understanding while motivating students to love the Qur’an more and live by its guidance in everyday life.
With the spirit of togetherness, ALMADANI Expo 2025 is not just an annual agenda, but a concrete movement to build a generation of students who are religious, creative, and impactful for society at large.
