Bengkalis, 7 August 2024 — The MBKM Real Work Lecture (KUKERTA) Student Group from the University of Riau (UNRI) once again demonstrated their commitment to efforts to achieve Sustainable Development 2030 (SDGs) by conducting outreach and providing nutritious food at the Posyandu in Lubuk Garam Village, Siak Kecil, Bengkalis Regency. This activity, which was led by students from the Department of International Relations and Sociology, was under the guidance of Field Supervisor (DPL) Dr. Yusnarida Eka Nizmi, S.IP., M.Si., students from the Department of International Relations and Sociology held two main activities: providing nutritious food at Posyandu and exercising with local youth.
The activity of providing nutritious food at Posyandu Delima, Suka Jadi Hamlet, aims to prevent stunting in children, in line with point 2 of Sustainable Development 2030 (SDGs). The students provided green bean porridge, which is rich in protein, vitamins, minerals, enzymes and iron, to support children's growth and prevent stunting. Chairman of KUKERTA MBKM UNRI, Mhd. Urfa Hunaufalkhair, said, "We hope that this activity can contribute to preventing stunting and improving the welfare of children in Lubuk Garam Village."
The main aim of this activity is to prevent stunting in children, which is one of the important points in the SDGs, especially point 2 which focuses on dealing with hunger from the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), to achieve better food security and nutrition, as well as promote sustainable agriculture.
In this activity, the KUKERTA MBKM student group provided nutritious food in the form of green bean porridge, which is known to be rich in protein, vitamins, minerals, enzymes and iron. The nutritional content in green bean porridge is very important for children's growth and preventing stunting, a serious condition that can affect children's physical and mental development, as well as have long-term impacts on their future health and productivity.
Chairman of KUKERTA MBKM UNRI, Mhd. Urfa Hunaufalkhair, expressed his hope that this activity could have a positive impact in efforts to prevent stunting in Lubuk Garam Village. "We hope that this activity can contribute to preventing stunting and improving the welfare of children in Lubuk Garam Village. "In the future, collaboration between students and the community must be frequent because it is very important in overcoming health problems like this," said Mhd. Urfa.
The activity received a warm welcome from posyandu cadres, midwives and health workers at Posyandu Delima, Suka Jadi Hamlet, Lubuk Garam Village. They appreciated the students' initiative and hoped that similar activities could continue to be carried out to improve the health of children and the younger generation in the area.
