Teluk Kuantan, October 16, 2025 — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Riau (FISIP UNRI), through its Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, once again demonstrated its commitment to strengthening academic networks between universities. This time, FISIP UNRI was invited by the Faculty of Social Sciences, Universitas Islam Kuantan Singingi (UNIKS), to serve as a speaker in a public lecture titled “Policy Design for Sustainable Development in Indonesia: Strategy and Implementation.”

The event was officially opened by the Rector of UNIKS, Dr. Ikrima Mailani, S.Pd.I., M.Pd.I., who in her remarks emphasized the importance of inter-campus collaboration to enrich students’ academic insights.

Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Sarjan M, S.Sos., M.Si., expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the presence of FISIP UNRI. He noted that such activities serve as an important platform to broaden students’ knowledge while strengthening institutional relations between UNIKS and UNRI.\

“The presence of a speaker from FISIP UNRI is a valuable opportunity for us to broaden our academic perspective, especially in understanding how public policy can contribute to sustainable development in Indonesia,” said Sarjan.

As the keynote speaker, Dr. Auradian Marta, S.IP., M.A., Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of FISIP UNRI, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the design and implementation of public policy in the context of sustainable development. He emphasized that effective policies should not only focus on economic growth but must also maintain a balance between social aspects and environmental preservation.

“The concept of sustainable development requires synergy between the government, academia, and society. Public policies should be designed with inclusive, adaptive principles and grounded in the real needs of the community,” said Dr. Auradian.

The public lecture, organized by the study programs of Law, Public Administration, and Accounting under the Faculty of Social Sciences at UNIKS, was attended by university leaders including the rector, vice rectors, faculty leaders, lecturers, and students from various programs. The enthusiasm of the participants was evident through the interactive discussions and the number of questions raised during the Q&A session.

Through this event, students are expected to deepen their understanding of strategies and implementation of sustainable development policies in Indonesia. Beyond enriching academic knowledge, the lecture also serves as a concrete step to strengthen collaboration and knowledge exchange between Universitas Islam Kuantan Singingi and Universitas Riau.
