Pekanbaru, December 9, 2024 – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Riau has started the implementation of the Odd Semester Final Exams (UAS) for the 2024/2025 academic year. These exams will take place over 10 working days, from December 9 to December 20, 2024, in various designated classrooms.

As part of its commitment to student welfare, FISIP Universitas Riau has launched a free breakfast program specifically for students who are recipients of the Indonesia Smart Card (KIP) during the exam period. This program is expected to provide a practical solution for students who need additional energy intake to maintain their concentration and focus during exams.

The Dean of FISIP Universitas Riau, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., emphasized that final exams are one of the most critical moments in a student’s academic journey. “We understand that students often face challenges, both academic and non-academic, during the exam period. Therefore, through this free breakfast program, we aim to provide tangible support to KIP recipients so they can take their exams in optimal condition,” said Dr. Meyzi.

The Vice Dean for General Affairs and Finance, Dr. Mayarni, S.Sos., M.Si., added that the free breakfast program aligns with the faculty's efforts to support student success holistically. “Beyond focusing on academic facilities, we also strive to create an environment that promotes physical and mental well-being. This program reflects the spirit of inclusivity that we aim to continuously foster within FISIP,” explained Dr. Mayarni.

She also highlighted that this program is part of the faculty's commitment not only to provide adequate academic facilities but also to create a supportive atmosphere for students' physical and mental welfare. This initiative is in line with FISIP’s vision to become a faculty that is inclusive and responsive to the needs of its students.

The students benefiting from this program expressed their appreciation. One of the KIP recipients, M. Farhan, shared his gratitude: “This free breakfast program is very helpful for us, especially those who live far from campus. Sometimes, it’s challenging to have breakfast before exams due to time or financial constraints. With this program, we feel more cared for and motivated to face the exams.”

This program not only serves as a form of support for academic success but also reflects the sense of community that FISIP Universitas Riau aims to build. Moving forward, the faculty plans to continue developing programs that are relevant to the needs of students, especially those requiring additional support.

With a well-organized implementation of the final exams and the support of innovative programs like this, FISIP Universitas Riau hopes to continue producing graduates who excel not only academically but also have holistic and meaningful learning experiences.

This initiative also demonstrates how small acts of care and support from the faculty can have a significant positive impact on students, particularly during critical moments like final exams. FISIP Universitas Riau remains committed to being an institution that not only delivers quality education but also fosters a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for all its students.
