Initiating Campus Unlock, FISIP UNRI Becomes a Strategic Partner

Pekanbaru, September 12, 2025 — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Riau (FISIP UNRI), welcomed the Campus Unlock program initiated by SMA Islam As-Shofa Pekanbaru. The event was coupled with the signing of a Cooperation Agreement and Implementation Agreement between FISIP UNRI and SMA Islam As-Shofa Pekanbaru.

The event was attended by the Dean of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., accompanied by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Auradian Marta, S.IP., M.A.; Vice Dean for Finance and General Affairs, Dr. Mayarni, S.Sos., M.Si.; and Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Cooperation, Dr. Saiman Pakpahan, S.IP., M.Si. Also present were the Heads of Departments, Study Program Coordinators, and Working Group Leaders within FISIP UNRI. From the school’s side, the Principal of SMA Islam As-Shofa Pekanbaru, Rahma Maidianti, M.Si., attended along with the accompanying teachers.

Dean of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., expressed his appreciation for the event. “FISIP UNRI warmly welcomes the Campus Unlock Program initiated by SMA Islam As-Shofa Pekanbaru. Through this program, students can gain a closer understanding of campus life, particularly at FISIP UNRI, while also finding inspiration in planning their educational future,” said Dr. Meyzi.

Meanwhile, Principal of SMA Islam As-Shofa Pekanbaru, Rahma Maidianti, M.Si., highlighted the importance of synergy between schools and universities. “Campus Unlock is designed to broaden students’ horizons about campus life and the academic world. The presence of FISIP UNRI as a partner certainly adds value for our students in understanding the dynamics of university learning and future opportunities,” explained Rahma.

Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Auradian Marta, S.IP., M.A., reported that the Campus Unlock program was attended by a number of SMA Islam As-Shofa students and would run for five full days. “Throughout the program, students follow a schedule similar to university lectures, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This format allows students to directly experience the learning environment in higher education and gain insights into academic life dynamics,” said Dr. Auradian.

Campus Unlock is a program by SMA Islam As-Shofa Pekanbaru aimed at introducing students to the university environment. It is designed to provide students with hands-on experience in exploring campus life, understanding academic processes, and fostering motivation and insight from an early stage. The program is expected to better prepare students in choosing their field of study and career paths after completing high school.

The event was marked by the signing of the Cooperation and Implementation Agreements between both parties as a form of commitment to support quality education improvement and strengthen academic networks. On this occasion, the two institutions also exchanged souvenirs as a token of appreciation and institutional bonding.

The event concluded with a group photo session featuring FISIP UNRI leaders, representatives of SMA Islam As-Shofa, accompanying teachers, and students. This moment wrapped up the event in a spirit of togetherness while reaffirming the spirit of collaboration.
