Pekanbaru, October 14, 2025 — In celebration of the 63rd Anniversary of Universitas Riau (UNRI), the Universitas Riau Hospital (RS UNRI) conducted a roadshow at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) to provide free eye health screenings for the academic community. The event took place in the Lecturer Room, 1st Floor of the FISIP Dean Building, on Tuesday (14/10) from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. The activity drew great enthusiasm from lecturers, administrative staff, and students who participated in the examinations. The screening was carried out by the medical team from UNRI Hospital, aiming to detect potential vision disorders early and to raise awareness about the importance of maintaining eye health.


Dean of FISIP Universitas Riau, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., stated, “This eye health screening ensures that our academic community remains healthy and comfortable in both working and learning environments. We hope similar activities can be conducted regularly in the future,” said Dr. Meyzi.
Meanwhile, Vice Dean for Finance and General Affairs, Dr. Mayarni, S.Sos., M.Si., added that the program aligns with efforts to create a healthy and productive work environment. “We truly appreciate this eye examination initiative, as it helps ensure that FISIP’s lecturers and staff are in prime condition to deliver their best performance.”
Director of Universitas Riau Hospital, Dr. dr. Surya Hajar Fitria Dana, Sp.P, Subsp.PKL(K) FCCP, FISR, M.M., M.Biomed, also expressed appreciation for the collaboration. “This eye health screening is part of our commitment to continuously contribute through promotive and preventive programs within the campus community,” she said.
Through this initiative, FISIP and Universitas Riau Hospital hope to enhance awareness of eye health among the academic community while fostering a culture of healthy living within Universitas Riau.
