On October 28, 2024, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Riau organized a curriculum reconstruction workshop at the Royal Asnof Hotel, featuring Dr.rer.nat. Delita Zul, M.Si., as the main speaker. The workshop was attended by FISIP leadership, including the Dean, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., Vice Dean I for Academic Affairs, Dr. Auradian Marta, S.IP., M.A., Vice Dean II for General and Financial Affairs, Dr. Mayarni, S.Sos., M.Si., as well as all department heads and study program coordinators within FISIP Universitas Riau.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., Dean of FISIP Universitas Riau, stated that curriculum reconstruction is conducted annually, with a maximum interval of four years. He emphasized that this process is essential to producing competent graduates capable of adapting to the changing times and evolving needs, thereby better preparing them to face challenges in the modern era.
Vice Dean I for Academic Affairs, Dr. Auradian Marta, S.IP., M.A., added that curriculum reconstruction is crucial to enhancing the quality of education so that higher education institutions can deliver optimal outputs to society and the nation.
The main speaker, Dr. rer.nat. Delita Zul, M.Si., provided an in-depth presentation on curriculum reconstruction. She highlighted that an ever-evolving and improved curriculum will maintain the quality and competitiveness of FISIP Universitas Riau. Curriculum reconstruction is necessary to align with the needs of the job market, industry, and society. During her presentation, she shared her extensive experience in this area.
An interactive Q&A session followed, where participants discussed obstacles and challenges, including limited time and human resources, as well as the need for rapid updates to meet 21st-century and global industry demands.
