FISIP UNRI – September 9, 2025 — The Environmental Sociology course welcomed an inspiring guest lecturer. Uswatun Khasanah, S.Pd, Co-Founder of Pemol, was invited to deliver a lecture on technological innovation in solving environmental problems.
In her presentation, Uswatun Khasanah explained that technological innovation can serve as an effective solution to environmental challenges. She highlighted several examples of innovations developed by Pemol, such as a more efficient and effective waste management system through the digitalization of household waste collection processes in Pekanbaru City.

"We must harness technology to tackle environmental issues," said Uswatun Khasanah. "Through technological innovation, we can create more effective and efficient solutions for overcoming environmental problems."


This lecture was also part of the implementation of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) between the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) and Pemol. The MoU aims to strengthen collaboration in the fields of education, research, and community service.
"We are very pleased to collaborate with Pemol in developing educational and research programs related to the environment," said the Dean of FISIP. "We hope this cooperation will bring real benefits to both society and the environment."
Robi Armilus, S.Sos., M.Si., the lecturer of the Environmental Sociology course and also Chair of the Green Society, emphasized the importance of this lecture in raising students’ awareness about environmental management.

"We hope this lecture will inspire students to become part of the solution to environmental issues," said Robi Armilus. "Through the collaboration between FISIP and Pemol, we aim to foster a generation that is more environmentally conscious."
The students attending the lecture showed great enthusiasm and engagement. They actively asked questions and engaged in discussions with Uswatun Khasanah on various topics related to technological innovation and environmental management. (Robi)
