On November 29, 2024, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Riau held its first-ever doctoral defense for the Doctoral Program in Public Administration in the Postgraduate Boardroom of FISIP Universitas Riau. The doctoral candidate was Defris Hatmaja, who defended his dissertation titled "Collaborative Governance Model in Determining the Price of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) of Oil Palm in Riau Province."
The doctoral defense was chaired by Dr. Auradian Marta, S.IP., M.A., and attended by the Head of the Doctoral Program in Public Administration, the Promoter, Co-Promoter, and an esteemed panel of examiners, including Dr. Adianto, S.Sos., M.Si, Prof. Dr. Seno Andri, M.Si, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si, Dr. Mayarni, S.Sos., M.Si, Prof. Dr. Sujianto, M.Si, Prof. Dr. Almasdi Syahza, SE., M.P, Dr. Harapan Tua R.F.S., M.Si, and Prof. Dr. Asrinaldi, M.Si as an external examiner.
The Dean of FISIP Universitas Riau, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si, expressed his hopes that the outcome of this doctoral defense would contribute significantly to the development of public administration science, particularly in the context of determining the price of oil palm fresh fruit bunches and fostering a deeper understanding of collaborative governance models in this area.
Prof. Dr. Seno Andri, M.Si, delivered the closing remarks, summarizing Defris Hatmaja’s success in defending his dissertation. He also conveyed his appreciation for the hard work and dedication demonstrated by everyone involved in the doctoral defense process, expressing hope that the research findings would provide tangible benefits to stakeholders.
